Thanks for the responses.
Here is an update on my zap groundstart, loopstart, "disconnect supervision" woes. Apparently, the groundstart mode in the CAC FXO module works on loopstart lines. I still don't understand how and why.
I have loop...

Question :: groundstart and loopstart
...r detected hang-up. Everything else worked. I was frustrated as hell.
After a few days of trying everything, I tried to set my CAC II FXO module to Groundstart and configured zaptel.conf and zapata.conf to groundstart signaling.
Voila! Everything work!
The question is how does groundstart and loopstart work? How was I able to have a somewhat working system using loopstart when it seems that the phone company signaling was groundstart? Can I assume that my lines are indeed groundstart?
I am really happy that it works. I can now begin the process of deployment with a much greater feeling of sec...

need working loopstart config - t100p
I am connecting a t100p to a b8zs, superframe, loopstart t1. Previously
I've attached to e&m wink and pri lines with no problems; however I seem
to be missing something.
Should it be fxols in the zaptel.conf (smartjack to x100p) or
fxsls?
With e&m wink the dnis set was 100, so it was easy to make an extension
100; and it would answer incomi...

Re: two computers set up ... now what?
***
Now you just need a "phone" or "station" (FXS) device and a method of
connecting it.
***
So... essentially I need to spend another $125 US on a Wildcard TDM400P so I
can plug in an analog phone?
On the X100P description it says:
"The X100P supports FXS Loopstart and "Kewlstart" (Loopstart with far end
disconnection supervision). It can detect ringing and remote hangup and
fully supports Pseudo-TDM bridging through Zaptel"
So this is telling me that the X100P will function only with an FXS
device... is this correct?
Sorry for the 'si...

TDM, loopstart and modules GSM Nokia32
Hello,
I have an Asterisk 1.2.10, with a TDM with 2 FXO modules, and 2 GSM

I configured the TDM with loopstart signalling. For a few days, all

Is it possible to turn down these levels? How about a software limiter? Or a filter that cuts out huge spikes?
Could these problems be due to my equipment?
Let's see, my system:
T400P 4 port T1
port one attached to CAC II w/ 12 FXO set to ground start 12 FXS set to loopstart
port two CAC II w/ 24/FXS loopstart
port three CAC II w/ 24/FXS loopstart
port four free
Thanks,
Jason

Callerid on t1 lines
Hello All,
Just a question, I have an adit600 and I am looking for a way to pull
the incoming cid into asterisk.
Does anyone know if this is just not possible via t1? Or is it only
available on PRI?
Thanks,
Greg

Double Ring
Hi,
It seems like my ATA is making a ringing noise... (as it used to), but
now (After the upgrade from 1.0.7 to 1.2) asterisk also is either
making the ringing, or passing the PRI ringing from the telco on to
me. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

[LLVMdev] Issues with the llvm.stackrestore intrinsic - now LoopRotation handling of alloca

The above code happily moves an alloca instruction out of the loop, to
the new loop header. Shouldn't we also check on
!isa<AllocaInst>(Inst)
before allowing to move it?
The code that breaks because of the moved alloca looks like
start:
[...]
br loopstart
loopbody:
[use alloc'd mem]
call stackrestore(%oldsp)
br loopstart
loopstart:
%oldsp = call stacksave()
alloca
[...]
brcond loopbody, end
end:
[use alloc'd mem]
call stackrestore(%oldsp)
Then LoopRotation clones the stacksave from bb3 to bb1 and _moves_ the

and none of the other channels can dial out on that line. I have tested the
line in this state and it is closed (from telco) but * reports at the CLI
that it cannot create a channel of type zap because everything is congested
at this time. The line is a loopstart line from Qwest (yeah I know, no
supervision etc, but it was working fine b4).
I am totally at a loss as to where to go from here. Any suggestions would
be appreciated.

Audiocodes gateway and asterisk
...asterisk and SIP?
I'm looking at that platform, but I have a couple of issues:
1) Echo cancellation. The echo that I'm hearing with an X100P is
unacceptable. Does the Audiocodes do better?
2) Line signalling. I'm using Kewlstart with the X100P, but it looks like
the audiocodes uses loopstart only. How does this work with voicemail, etc?
My experience with loopstart on the X100P is that voicemail never stops and
I end up with two-hour long messages.
Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks,

asterisk + NEC integration
I have an nec electra elite 192 with a t1 card; and am looking for
suggestions as to integrating them (can't throw out the system yet!).
I have a fully working asterisk server -CVS-04/27/04-19:01:05- (found a
hp d220 for $350.00!), 2 digium t100p cards, a plain t1 with loopstart
signaling, and 2 working bt102 grandstream ip phones (thanks again Matt
for your "start from scratch" article).
This is what I'd like:

Thanks for the suggestion, but it still puts everything in a single

[LLVMdev] Issues with the llvm.stackrestore intrinsic
Hi,
I have two problems regarding the llvm.stackrestore intrinsic. I'm
running on 3.0, but a quick test on trunk also showed the same behavior.
First problem:
---------------
I have code like:
tmp1 = call llvm.stacksave()
tmp2 = alloca
[do some stuff with tmp2]
call llvm.stackrestore(tmp1)
[some other stuff]
tmp3 = call llvm.stacksave()
tmp4 = alloca
