Maximum number of shares
I am looking forward to create more than 1000 shares on a SAMBA server. Is it possible? Are there any known limitations doing so? (number of concurrent access) Thank you for your help. Thierry CONTER

syslinux 3.07 fails on MSI Hermes 651 boxes
...on an MSI Hermes 651, it says "SYSLINUX 3.07 2005-01-12 ", then hangs forever. On any other machine I've tried, the same CD displays my boot.msg after this message, and then boots the kernels listed in the configs. Any idea what's causing this, and how to fix/work around it? LLaP bero

Getting a list of all possible smb mounts
...MASTER IP} -U user%pass doesn't always find all machines in the workgroup, and sometimes finds machines that have been turned off ages ago (I know this isn't samba's fault). Is there a better way to get a list of available SMB mounts, or at least a workaround for the long hangs? dos-attack on inetd.
Hi. I don''t know if this one is known, but I can''t recall seeing anything about it. If it is old news I apologize. I discovered a bug in the inetd that comes with NetKit-B-0-08 and older. If a single SYN is sent to port 13 of the server, inetd will die of Broken Pipe: write(3, "Sun Jan 12 21:50:35 1997\r\n", 26) = -1 EPIPE (Broken pipe) --- SIGPIPE (Broken pipe) ---
