Reproducible samba bug with directory name
I just recreated this bug in samba-3.0.26a-3.3. It is as simple as creating a directory named "F-08-6104 International Management Assoc." (without the quotes), then looking at the name of the directory via XP. I've done it twice now: OpenSUSE 10.2 + Samba 3.0.23d-19.7 + XFS, all from Novell OpenSUSE 10.3 + samba-3.0.26a-3.3 + XFS, all from Novell With both I get the same wrong

How to fix col.regions mapping in multiple spplot?
Hello, I have a question on sp package. I drew pixel heat maps of continental U.S. using insurance litigation data. If an insurance claim is litigated at a certain location, 1 is assigned; otherwise 0 is assigned. I have assigned a value between 0 and 1 to each pixel on my map using inverse-distance weighting (spatial smoothing). I need to draw two pixel maps, one for period 2001-2006 and the other for period 2007-2010, to gauge the impacts of r...

IAX2 trunks unreliable becoming UNREACHABLE after a time
I have a network of offices using Asterisk that are connected via IAX2 trunks. The trunks work great for a day or two then for no reason at all one end of the trunk will become UNREACHABLE while the other end is still connected. The only way to fix the problem is to shutdown Asterisk completly then start it backup again. The end that dies is not always the same, some times it is server A and some

Samba, the GPL and SCO
For those of you following the IBM vs SCO legal case, you have probably noticed that SCO has said that the GPL is invalid. IBM appears to make the reasonable case that you can't say something is void, and then rely on it. INAL, but why is SCO allowed to distribute Samba without agreeing to the GPL? That's like buying a car, then claiming the sale agreement is bogus but you still want

Customer complains of noise on line I cannot reproduce.
I have setup a few Asterisk systems for customers using Digium TDM400 cards and Aastra phones. No problems with sound quality at all except at this one site. Every time I try their system I don't hear any problems but they tell me that it is really bad. They describe it a a loud scratching sound. Are there any tests that can be done to pinpoint the problem? Has anyone seen this before? Are

One time samba short name issue
All, I have a stable fileserver that had a burp this morning. (OpenSUSE 10.2 + Samba 3.0.23d-19.7 + XFS, all from Novell) A directory was created via a Rails App. (like always on this machine). Normally a traditional long filename and mangled short name are created. All is good even though I don't use short names for anything. Today, the longname somehow is reflecting what I assume is

Centos trademark issue
I found an old ROM BIOS chip in my drawer with label Centos(r) Copyright 1994 on it. Then I found http://www.centos.com.tw/ on the net. Has anyone checked if you can use the name centos without any fear of litigation? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi! What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows Media Player 9 or 10 ) ? The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and tobias). I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by me), but can't find it any more. Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ? Regards, David

filtering out unwanted words in a Term Document Matrix
Hi Y'all, I am using the text mining package (tm). I am trying to filter out all of the words in a Term Document Matrix that are not in a list of words that I am interested in. I am using the following code: z<-tm_intersect(txt.dtm, c("communications", "safety", "climate", "blood", "surface", "cleanliness",

What exactly do you mean by archiving?
I mean every single email sent and recieved is kept for a period of time (3 -5 years) separate from users mail, and emails cant be deleted. Ideally emails would have compression, mailboxes need to be searchable easily, and some mechanism whereby attachments sent to multiple people only get saved once, and emails sent to multiple people only get saved once. I could do something with

Help with vectors and rollapply
Hello I have a vector a =(-2,0,0,0,1,0,0,3,0,0,-4) I want to replace all zeros into previous non-zero state. So for instance the above vector should be converted into: a= (-2,-2,-2,-2,1,1,1,3,3,3,-4) I tried many things and finally concluded that probably(?) rollapply may be the best way? I tried f= function(x){ ifelse(x==0,Lag(x),x) } And then, rollappy(a,1,f) and that

folders not visible on copied mail folders
Shortly after this post, I found a solution here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=1097725 In order to see the .Dennis\ Email.Dennis\ Inbox sub-folder you have to collapse and re-expand the folder list in Thunderbird. It's that simple ... AND that annoyingly obscure! Thanks for your help! --Mark -----Original Message----- From: Mark Foley <mfoley at ohprs.org> Date: Thu,
