Setup.exe Hides Dialogues
I'm new on here, so I hope this has not been answered too many times already. I searched the knowledge base at the Wine site without finding a solution. I just switched from Mandrake to Lindows, which seems to have a capable version of Wine running. However, with two Winapps I've tried to install, the initial setup window (fullscreen, borderless, no controls) completely hides the install dialogues from view. Alt-Tab will not bring them forward, although it does show that they are...

Wine, the GPL, and Lindows
Malcolm Scott <newsgroups1_m@lcolm.NOSPAM.org.uk> writes: > Sorry! I had assumed that, because it was free and for Linux, that it > was GPL :-( I'll be more careful in the future... Actually, most ostensibly "Linux" distributions contain *large* amounts of software that is under various licenses other than the GPL. University licenses especially, and particularly the

New SIP Phone
Michael Robertson, founder of both MP3.com and Lindows, has launched a new company to supply inexpensive SIP phones ($129 for two) and related services. See today's press release at http://www.sipphone.com/tiki-index.php?page=SIPphone%20Inc My question for the list is who will be the first to report on the compatibility and usability of the S...

changing unix password with samba
I am running RedHat 9 and samba. I need to be able to set one password for each user and sync them with ssh, web, unix password. i.e. When I change samba pass, it changes unix, ftp, etc. Is this possible with samba? I saw that it is if you are running windows and then you can change the unix pass via samba. Is this possible when running linux. I just want to easily administer my users.

ISOLINUX fails at boot on Award BIOS v6.00PG
...'s ISOLINUX or a broken BIOS, this is the first time ever seeing this error. "Extremely broken BIOS" on a EPIA -M10 BIOS Rev 2.07 (latest ver available) EDEN VIA mini-ITX mobo. ISOLINUX on RH8 ver 1.75, RH9 ver 2.00 and Yarrow ver 2.06 all produce the same type of error. RH 7.3 and Lindows boot and build without any problem but I don't think they use ISOLINUX as a boot loader. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks Doug -- FREE Unlimited Worldwide Voip calling set-up an account and start saving today! http://www.voippages.com ext. 1003 http://www.pulver.com/fwd/ ext. 83740

ser --> sip.conf --->extensions.conf, variable context
Hi If I have ser sending calls to asterisk, is there a way to get a different block called in sip.conf for each call (based on some variable, NOT username, From:), if not and they all hit one block which has contect=abc, then when that context is called/matched in extensions.conf, how can I have diff features for various groups of users. EG lets say I have a large company with 4 departments

Application Database RFC
I have done a lot of thinking about the Application Database http://appdb.codeweavers.com lately and how the rating system works. We currently have 848 Applications in there but only 58 with a 5 star rating which works out to less than 10% and thats the good news. The bad news is that of those 58 only 26 rate that without windows installed. After takeing a closer look, none of the apps I

GUI's for teaching
Dear All, There is no advantage of GUI over CLI, IMO. The real issue is the answer to the questions: "What should I do next?" or "What am I allowed to do here?" A "nice" interface, not necessarily GUI, will offer friendly answers: "I was expecting you to do _this_" or "In this situation you are allowed to do _these things_" You see, it's all
