RedHat broke termcap on the 4.2 libtermcap security upgrade
RedHat broke termcap on the 4.2 libtermcap security upgrade. Until RedHat gets a chance to fix it, fixed RPMS are here: http://linux.samiam.org/blackdragon - Sam (Who is just glad that RedHat continues to keep RedHat 4.2 current with security, even though it is an older distribution. In fact, their support is the best support I have...

Asterisk on SuSE 9.1?
I am trying to do my first asterisk install on a SuSE 9.1 box, using the asterisk-update script mentioned a few days ago on this list. I did read the 'quickstart' document on onlamp.com, and made sure the following packages were installed via yast: bison, cvs, gcc, kernel-source, libtermcap-devel, ncurses-devel, newt-devel, openssl096b, and openssl-devel. The SuSE 9.1 DVD contained openssl-0.9.7d-15. I hope that's compatible, since its 'later' than 096b, right? ...there was a termcap package, which contains the termcap libraries, but no libtermcap-devel. If there are he...

Need basic help getting started
I have followed the instructions on the asterisk web site to checkout the three files using CVS. I then followed the instructions for make <filename> ; make install in each directory. There seemed to be a lot of error info flashing across the screen during each of the processes. I have verified that I meet the basic requirements linux kernel, openssl, readline with the appropriate devel

We think we are cpe but they think they are cpe too
...I need to see reconfiguring or reset channel 1 to 30 ? My zaptel.conf and zapata.conf are probably ok because i copied them from another system where everything works fine. I installed asterisk through book on my Ubuntu 8.04 server system.Only thing I didn't install before libpri and zaptel was libtermcap because there is no such package on Ubuntu. Missing libs on install
I've run across a couple of things I'm not quite sure why, but just discovered the libtermcap.* was not installed from the CD's. I would have thought the termcap libs would be part of the base install, and in fact, when I retrieved them with yum, it does show "base" or "core". Is this just some errant behavior one time or is something broken in the install? I&...
