Cad/Cam Package problem
...d over to PCLINUXOS2007 from Windows XP and have found it to be a great Distro.
The only software I'm keeping Windows XP for is a high end Cad/Cam Package called AlphacamV2004 from Licom Systems which I use for work and home.
I've installed Alphacam with Wine version 0.9.58 and the Advanced Lathe module seems to work fine with no bugs so far, the Advanced Mill 3axis and 5 axis modules work ok but with Quick Shading and Advanced Shading of 3D models the active drawing screen goes blank but is restored when I go back to Wire Mesh surfaces,
also when I select a tool from the tool select pop u...

got nut 2.8.1 but despite reinstall, shows 2.7.4

It is likely that you have built new nut but old nut is still on your
system. I do a 'sudo make install' to write over the distribution nut
(on NetBSD/pkgsrc, surely not what you are using).

SBC's and ssh's encryptions
Greetings everybody;
I have 2 questions today, but to put them in context, I'll describe the
setup first.
I am in the process of cnc'ing an old Sheldon metal lathe. These can
make large amounts of flying metal chips & stringers when doing what
they do, so its paramount that the electronics to run them are either
far enough away, or put in a box thats well sealed, with fans in the box
to distribute the heat, and a fan blowing on the box to cool its...

ATM, its a bit cold here to go putzing around although I might get some
free time later this afternoon to go install this toy ups. I have to
start by figuring out where I hang it on the overhead frame thats also
holding a 4000 lumen led light over an 11x54 CNC'd lathe.
I am also the caretaker for my bride of 30 years who is in the later
stages of COPD. So I can't leave her unattended for too long. One of the
advantages of outliving all ones enemies. ;-)
I've got another project going that will take some steel cutting and
welding, outside work IOW,...

Changing UPS to a bigger APC 1500 1000WA, what driver?
I've drug it as far under the table as I can get it on a 30% heart.
Yeah, I'm getting on, I'll be 85 in about 2 weeks. Heart surgury will be
scheduled in the next few days to replace a worn out, leaky aortic
valve. Piece if cake if my veins are big enough.
So what driver do I use with a Smart-UPS_1500???
Never mind it was found and accessed by the bootup! upsc my usp reports:

There’s this page for matching the layout of an existing Debian install: https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/wiki/Building-NUT-on-Debian,-Raspbian-and-Ubuntu
But remind me, what are you hoping to get from the later version of NUT? (We don’t

[POSSIBLE FRAUD] Re: [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
Hi Jean-Roch,
No. There is no user-facing firmware update process available.
If there are any particular commands you're interested in on a newer unit, I can look them up.

nut on armhf, r-pi4b IOW
Greetings all;
Does nut build on an r-pi4b?
I have an r-pi4b running one of my cnc machines and the power bump
performance due to the size of its psu and the fairly rapid start time
of my standby generator, does not allow a full powerdown restart to take
place, leaving the pi in a crashed state.
I've purchased a factory refurbed cyberpower ups rated at 650 WA which I
intend to figure
