ext3 4TB fs limit on amd64 (FAQ?)
Hi,
I've a question about the max. ext3 FS size. The ext3 FAQ explains that
the limit is 4TB.
http://batleth.sapienti-sat.org/projects/FAQs/ext3-faq.html
| Ext3 can support files up to 1TB. With a 2.4 kernel the filesystem size
is | limited by the maximal block device size, which is 2TB. In 2.6 the
maximum | (32-bit CPU) limit is of block devices is 16TB, but ext3
supports only up | to 4TB.

Kernel panic in ext3:dx_probe, help needed
This may or may not be ext3 related but I am trying to find any pointers
which might help me. I got a number of HP Proliant DL380 g5 with a P400
controller and also two qla2400 cards. The OS is RedHat EL4 U5 x86_64.
Every time during reboot these systems panic after the last umount and I
believe before the cciss driver is getting unloaded. The last messages I
am able to see are:

barrier and commit options?
Hello,
On my home server (Debian etch, custom 2.6.28.2 kernel), I am using ext3
for both root and /home filesystems, with barriers enabled to prevent
corruption caused by my PATA disk write cache.
Looking for a better performance, I have also set the commit=nr option
as described in linux-2.6.28.2/Documentation/filesystems/ext3.txt, so
that I now have:
niko at petole:~$ mount -t ext3

Ext3 corruption using cluster
Hello all,
I've a cluster with an oracle database. The shared filesystem is provided
from a SAN and there's LVM and ext3 fs.
I've experienced some problem. During a normal switch of my cluster
remounting FS on second node gave me problem. FS is corrupted.
During a normal switch, operations done are:
- oracle shutdown abort
- oracle listernet shutdown
- umount fs (using umount -l )

libvirt/dnsmasq is not adhering to static DHCP assignments
This is basically a continuation of an older posting[0] I found, but
apparently no solution has been posted. So, I'm trying to setup static
DHCP leases with dnsmasq that is being started by libvirtd:
-----------------------------------------------------------
$ sudo virsh net-dumpxml --network default
<network>

<dns enable='no'/>

un'stat'able files - fs corruption?
Hello list,
I have some serious problems on my ext3 filesystem. Several folders
contain files, which cannot be accessed in any way,
not even a stat() on these files is possible:

BUG at fs/buffer.c:2933 during umount
Hi,
I could not find this anywhere else reported, so here we go:
creating a new btrfs filesystem (btrfs-progs-unstable from git) and
mounting it succeeds, unmounting however fails with the kernel messages
attached to this mail. After that, I can still read and write to the
btrfs mount, but e.g. /bin/sync never finishes, sysrq-s never reports
"Sync complete".
I''m using a

Can't mount /home anymore
Hi!
I'm new to the list. I have a problem with mounting my home directory since
my PC crashed. I hope that I can get some help on this list as I don't know
much of ext3 myself.
The mount command for my /home gives me the following output:
# mount /dev/sda6 /mnt/tmp/
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda6,
missing codepage or other error

FS corruption? bogus i_mode
Hello,
I am doing some testing on a PXA270 based processor (on a single
board computer) which makes the processor vulnerable to bit flips. One
such bit flips seems to have corrupted the file system.
The debug port on the board (it is a single board computer) had the
following message when i think the FS corruption occured :
<7>init_special_inode: bogus i_mode (33061)

Problem with file system
While I untar a large archive on xfs , ext3 (ver 1.3 and ver 1.4) file
systems , on ppc processor and kernel ver 2.6.21 , I get an error. Also
sometimes, on ext3 (1.3 and 1.4) the file system goes read-only while
untarring.
The same tar file when untarred on a i386 machine works properly.

benchmark results
I've had the chance to use a testsystem here and couldn't resist running a
few benchmark programs on them: bonnie++, tiobench, dbench and a few
generic ones (cp/rm/tar/etc...) on ext{234}, btrfs, jfs, ufs, xfs, zfs.
All with standard mkfs/mount options and +noatime for all of them.
Here are the results, no graphs - sorry:

Include option patch for OpenSSH 6.2
This is really just a modified version of Gavin Beatty's patch,
slightly altered so it'll apply cleanly to OpenSSH 6.2 (i.e. yesterdays
CVS checkout).
