Krauler UP-D1200VA
Hello. I have this UPS: Krauler UP-D1200VA Megatec USB protocol Vendor ID: 0x0001, Device ID: 0x0000 #KRAULER UP-D1200VA VER6.00 #220.0 004 23.50 50.0 Currently I have nut 2.2.0 installed from sources. Installation was successful except that I had to change a string in 52-nut-usbups.rules from: SUBSYSTEM!="usb_device",...

Krauler UP-M500VA investigation
Hi, All! I've recently bought an UPS. It is Krauler UP-M500VA, it has USB port and is a HID device. But as I discovered the only HID application it supports is 0x860004, so it isn't claimed by both hidups and newhidups drivers, because it uses a vendor-specific values. I tried to discover values in that x86 page, but I failed. How can I do it?...

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r801 - in branches/megatec-usb: . drivers
...evice? In particular, do the instant commands (and particularly "upsdrvctl -k") work properly? In this case, we could hopefully mark the device as "supported" and merge the driver to the main branch. There is still the question of whether to keep separate code for Ablerex and Krauler. From what I understand, each of these subdrivers works for each of the devices. But the Krauler driver is now more advanced (with the retry feature), so we could remove the Ablerex subdriver (provided Jon tests the Krauler one to make sure it still works for the Ablerex device). If I understand c...

Adding drivers to NUT?
Dear Daniele, i understand perfectly, i'd like to explain you why we choosed to clone the blazer_usb driver: some of our devices uses Voltronic Q1 protocol and we tried the Krauler Subdriver (it was the one with the right "commands", Q1, F, etc.), but the issues were 2: - first: the Krauler Subdriver expects a different number of bytes in answer because in debug i see "Short Reply" (if i send Q1 to the UPS it will answer with 47 Bytes, CR terminated), from...

Lupus 500 MEC0003 Problems
...unately none of the Instcmds such as load.off etc. worked. Some of the more pertinent info from the status: productid 0000 vendorid 0001 firmware VER40141F1 and from lsusb idvendor 0x0001 Fry's Electronics iManufacturer MEC iProduct MEC0003 The driver is using the Megatec protocol with the Krauler subdriver So I connected the USB to my Windows machine and using Upsilon2000 it was possible to shutdown the UPS. I then installed NUT 2.7.1 and tried the nutusb_qx driver to see if this improved matters, unfortunately it didn't help. So after some sniffing on the USB port I observed that th...

Patch to support Powercool PCRACK-1200VA
Hi Folks, This is my first post on nut-upsdev. I would like to share a small patch to enable support for the Powercool PCRACK 1200VA ups. I found that the UPS uses megatec/krauler protocol but is sensitive to the USB buffer length passed to it in requests via usb_get_string(), and usb_get_string_simple(). If the buflen is greater than 102 then the ups will reply to requests but does not behave correctly. In this case the responses to "Q1" commands contain cons...

Adding drivers to NUT?
Dear Daniele, nice to meet you, I'm a collegue of Gabriele. The problem with "blazer_usb" driver ("blazer_ser" works correctly) is related to the following commands: - "F" and "I": when the KRAULER subdriver check these UPS answers it uses wrong constants to check the lenght of the received packets, so these commands are considered as "not available" by NUT. In particular, without the availability of the "F" command, is not possible for NUT to calculate the battery capacit...

NUT: new blazer_usb subdriver proposal
Hello, I've recently bought two cheap UPS (http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00109242.html). They're not supported natively by NUT (even though the monitoring software is UPSilon from megatec). After some investigation, they almost use the krauler-type communication already supported in the blazer_usb driver. However, the UPS won't reply if the language ID is not 0x4095... Therefore, I cloned the krauler_command, adding the language ID and unicode to ASCII conversion (taken from libusb). I also enhanced the error!retry mechanism, as the...

PowerWalker and megatec_usb
...9;ve (finally) decided to try and make my PowerWalker work with megatec_usb. So far it seems the agiler subdriver is the way to go, but it doesn't work. The initial detection process sometimes succeeds in 1 out of 5 "Q1" commands, but that's about it (which is better than what the krauler subdriver can do... absolutely nothing). So, what needs to be done to obtain more information? I don't seem to get anything readable out of the "get_descriptor" tool. What command line parameters should I use? Be aware that I'm still almost completely ignorant about this USB stu...

[...] I'm not very thrilled about this patch: 1) Down at the subdriver level, one shouldn't use ser_get_line() anymore, but usb->get_interrupt() instead or alternatively, get_data_agiler(). Hopping back-and-forth between various layers in the code is bad coding st...

Adding drivers to NUT?
...drivers that uses the VID and PID to match the device (for nutdrv_qx). if you have the name of a usb driver for nutdrv_qx could be really helpful and i will study on top of it, otherwise if you have any docs regarding this please send me the link! I also checked the nutdrv_qx.c and i found "Krauler subdriver", but i'm not sure how it works. thanks in advance, Best Regards, Gabriele Taormina ________________________________ Da: Daniele Pezzini <hyouko at gmail.com> Inviato: giovedì 12 luglio 2018 02:20 A: Gabriele TAORMINA Cc: nut-upsdev at alioth-lists.debian.net; Thierr...

Converting megatec_usb.c -> serial_usb.c
...lt-in USB-to-serial converters, not limited to the megatec_usb driver (although that was the first one to use this). I also think a more layered approach would be nice, in the same fashion as the usbhid-ups driver with subdrivers. Which would mean that we would split-off the lowlevel stuff (agiler, krauler) in separate source files and keep the remainder in serial_usb.c. Ultimately, the goal would be to bundle everything in a library that could be linked in by devices that have this kind of interface. Any thoughts/objections from making this split? Best regards, Arjen
