Installed Kernal (default)
Is there a description or statement that describes the stock kernal in
CentOS, and would give all the various modules it is compiled with? As
with BSD, I assume there are things in the kernal that are mandatory,
and then there are things that are optional or included so as to catch
most everything one could have w/r/t hardware. That being the case, as
with F...

Mandrake 10, Request for comments.
My * is presently running fine on Mandrake 9.2, but Ive been entertaining
moving to Mandrake 10.0 to enjoy the obvious improvement in kernal speed Im
seeing on other 10.0 boxes Ive recently built for other applications. (10.0
is the first implementation of the 2.6 kernal)
Any comments from anyone who's running on 10.0?
IS anyone running * on Mandrake 10.0?
If so, any issues stand out?
I'm hesitant because of the dot zero rel...

In case of centos you can use 2.6.18 because redhat backported all
needed virtio drivers from never kernels.

Kernal32 -- Known to do
I am an undergraduation and I am planning to do a known to do ( KERNAL

capabilities to successfully complete it within one year. Keeping in
mind, I am new to this emulator.

Using Virtio drivers with kernal 2.6.18-164.el5
Hi All
I looked at this page for reference to using virtio drivers on KVM guests.
http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Virtio
In the requirements section it is mentioned that we need a virtio
compatible guest with kernel >= 2.6.25
One of my guest has this version:
[root@localhost ~]# uname -a
Linux localhost 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Thu Sep 3 03:28:30 EDT 2009 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[fdo] Linux with Graphics and Sound
...m very sorry, but I cannot describe the deployment and maintaince of 3D
graphics and sound API's as well as drivers as anything other than woeful.
My hope is an enviroment where both open-source and commcial audio
applications, 3D graphic applications and 3D games can all flurish.
The Linux kernal is often updated and patched for security reasons. The
maintainence demands of reconfiguring, recompiling the kernel for sound,
and then continually installing kernel modules for video are becoming
too high for the average user.

Density Estimation
Dear R-list,
I have made a simple kernel density estimation by
x <- c(2,1,3,2,3,0,4,5,10,11,12,11,10)
kde <- density(x,n=100)
Now I would like to know the estimated probability that a
new observation falls into the interval 0<x<3.
How can I integrate over the corresponding interval?
In several R-packages for kernel density estimation I did
not found a corresponding function. I

Problems with Samba as PDC
I've got an ugly problem... hope somebody can help:
I upgraded from Samba 2.2.5a to 2.2.7a yesterday (SuSE RPM update).
Since then, all connected Windows computers show strange behaviour:
Depending on the computer, only a few selected users can log in - but
the users able to log in change from computer to computer. None of

update to 7.4
...d try....
yum remove kernel-(broken version)
yum update
-------------------------------------------------------------
This happened to me on one of the units during a 7.4 upgrade, and the
only way for the system to work for me was to use the previous os.
I tried to use the yum remove kernal 7.4 , but yum tried to remove all
of the kernels instead of just that last one installed. I obviously
aborted the command.
Looks like 7.4 has some major problems.
