scan error (PR#342)
It seems to me the following should work (in fact, it comes from
someone's SPlus file). Instead, it reads the first 8 lines and then
spits out syntax errors. Using nlines=36 works. Using nmax does not.
Intel RH5.2 with R90.0. Debugging shows it must be internal. Jim

State of Gluster 3.4 alpha 3 NFS ACL support
Wonder if someone can point me in the right direction here - just
built some new bricks running gluster 3.4 alpha 3 (from
http://download.gluster.org) with the objective of testing them to
replace some existing 3.2 systems in production.
The main thing I was after was NFS ACL support, however on getting
everything setup, I still don't seem to be able to see POSIX extended

[RFC] transfer files listed in a file.
Hi,
We've found a need to list the files to transfer in a files since
our command lines got too long. Anyway, the attached patch
implements reading from a file with two command line options.
The first is from-file, this file contains a list of files to get
from src. The second is subst-file which contains a list of files
to send to dst.
e.g.
rsync -f rsync.files jim@server::jim/ .

Samba4 Dc Winbind and uidNumbers
Hi all,
I'm trying to get the unix extensions working in AD. I'm obviously missing
something, but I can't see what...
I've just created user Jim (ADUC) and added a uidnumber (ADSIEdit). From
this and what I have below, user Jim should have uidNumber of 12345 (from
AD) and not be prefixed with Domain name. This isn't happening. Does anyone
have any idea why not?
cheers,
Jim

Adding matrix rows that have the same name?
Does anyone know if there is an R function that will take a matrix like this
jim 1 0 0 0 0 0
jim 0 1 0 0 0 0
jim 0 0 1 0 0 0
bob 1 0 0 0 0 0

harry 0 0 1 0 0 0
harry 0 0 0 1 0 0
harry 0 0 0 0 1 0
harry 0 0 0 0 0 1
and make it like this? (that is, add together rows that have the same name?)

Sorry to bother the help list with this, but I've sent two messages to:
cran at r-project.org
to notify about an upload and both have bounced due to:
<cran at r-project.org>: Mail Server is down or unreachable.
Thanks

Zentest and rspec
Hi guys
I''m new to rspec and was wondering if there is a quick setup to get it to
work with autotest, sans rails.
Thanks

Release of libvirt-0.8.2
Following Dan advice, I decided to not wait for more patches and push
the current git head as the release. Let's plan to have another release
by this month end with the QEmu debugging and hacking APIs.
The release is available as usual at ftp://libvirt.org/libvirt
Quite a lot of bug fixes during the two months since 0.8.1, and
a few new feature. It also tagged more commits as being

Sorry for the repost but I originally posted this as a response to
another thread. I have a text field called ''phrase'' but the
parameter values always come up as nil and when I check the
parameters dumped in the error message I do not get the normal hash
you''d expect. Instead of something like
{"phrase"=>"jim"}

Using indexing to manipulate data
I know one of R's advantages is it's ability to index, eliminating the need
for control loops to select relevant data, so I thought this problem would
be easy. I can't crack it. I have looked through past postings, but
nothing seems to match this problem

Jim,
you should ask questions like these on R-devel.
There are more proficient Linux gurus on there than me [that's why I CC:].
