[1.3.13]-Valve's STEAM Games Do Not Work... Hi, I've mentioned this several times already and did not receive a response. (either it will be fixed or some work-around) I can't play many games when using Valve's STEAM client under current Wine 1.3.13 32bit using Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. Logging user activities
Hello, What do you recommend for keeping track of user activities? For preserving bash histories I followed these recommendations: http://www.defcon1.org/secure-command.html They include using 'chflags sappnd .bash_history', enabling process accounting, and the like. My goal is to "watch the watchers," i.e. watch for abuse of power by SOC people with the ability to view

dom0 networking disabled
Hi folks, I''ve been trying to work out this situation for a few days now without much success and dug all over the archives for similar issues, none of which seem to relate exactly. I installed Debian Etch and the Xen (3.03) kernels / binaries on a Dell server. It works fantastic with all the default configurations with one strange flaw - as soon as the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge

Architecture for Asterisk
Dear all, I've recently installed Asterisk and am trying to understand where exactly Asterisk 'fits' in my VOIP architecture. Can/does Asterisk work as a proxy? (or only as a register server?) I am specifically interested in SIP. Could anyone perhaps point me out to a diagram with SIP users and Asterisk to better understand how I should set up my network? Thank you

Problem with DNS (UDP) queries
Hi all I am trying to get rid of strings: kernel: Connection attempt to UDP FREEBSD_IP:port from DNSSERVER_IP:53 on my console and in log file I understand that those are replies on DNS queries that for some reason took too long time to be answered. I do not want to turn off the "log in vain" feature. As these strings fill up my log I am afraid to miss some sensitive messages (e.g.

keyboard activity logging in FreeBSD
Hi, I would like to log all keyboard activities in all ttys in my FreeBSD 5.2 box. Is there anyway to do it? I read the watch man page and it seems like I should run watch with tty as many times as number of ttys. Am I right? Also is it possible to do the log in invisible way? The main reason is to log all commands typed in shell and tty and send the log to the remote server. How can I

The existing Mach-O port https://reviews.llvm.org/D38290#882910 had been unmaintained when the ld64.lld alias was added. If Jez and the team are committed to maintain the new Mach-O port and we think the existing port is a dead end, we may assign the flavor `darwin` to it (`lld -flavor darwin`) and rename the existing flavor to `darwin-old` or `darwin-legacy`.

voicemail.conf locking problem

The file is not locked down once it is opened. So my question, is the above scenario correct or is there somewhere a lock which I missed out on? Documentation people needed. FreeBSD/Security clue beneficial.
Hi All, Ok after watching all the discussion about some security documentation and teams I have come up with a few ideas that might help out some. I'm willing to program an interface at the extremefreebsd.org site (yes I know it's still new and under some work) that will allow the following: 1. A dedicated page for security related posts (articles, docs, advisories, etc) at
