AW: final question: how many mountpoints can icecast handle ?
...for the inside information about the mountpoints.
So what you're saying is that I need for my project when
doing with icecast 1.x
- per 25-50 concurrent users one single server
So problem is, if I wanted to handle, say 1000 streams,
I would need 200 Servers..this puts the concept a bit
in jeopardy because that would push the cost of the service
into astronomical..in comparison to handling, as I had planned
until now, 500 individual streams per server.
So I guess I'll have to wait until Icecast 2 for doing
a real prototype of this.
Just so that I get this right - if I have 1000 diffe...

converting to FLAC and maybe saving the cue file in attempt to use it later.
The first method I believe will pretty much insure the ability to
restore the CD faithful to the original, but does not lend itself to
easy creation of ogg or mp3. Is the future of CD's in jeopardy anyway.
Will we still use them in 5 years time or will we be using wireless
digital players with hard disks.
I just wondered if there were any more thoughts on this and if the
second method could actually be used to reproduce the original CD?
Hopefully some feedback will help me decide which to go...

But again, it's your money in your bank (and/or whatever else could get

That's why I said "avoid wishful thinking".
Yes, but "could have been" is one story (then, still variety of important
things may be left in jeopardy). Finding the proof that it is accidental
typo or stupid script is another. The second one takes much more time and
effort in my experience. I figure my teachers deserve their share of
credit for teaching me the way I am. Your response to incident that just
got discovered may be different. But what...

Well, your calculations are a bit off here to begin with - the numbers
here give 20 (or more) servers, not 200 or more.

how to report logistic regression results
Dear all,
I am comparing logistic regression models to evaluate if one predictor
explains additional variance that is not yet explained by another predictor.
As far as I understand Baron and Li describe how to do this, but my question
is now: how do I report this in an article? Can anyone recommend a
particular article that shows a concrete example of how the results from te

Red Hat Legal Targets www.centos.org website content
...few days, we will be cleansing the CentOS website of
Red Hat marks and/or possible marks. If you encounter any errors please
take a moment to point then out via a comment here or catch donavan in
#centos-web on irc.freenode.net.
At this point and going forward the CentOS project is not in any
jeopardy. We have a strong group of committed developers and are
growing like crazy. CentOS 4 is just around the corner; the future is
brighter than ever.

the perspective of our own jobs/environment/culture, putting ourselves
in their position as it were.? A lot of people join the list simply to
get a question answered, a lot more hang out and help when they can.? I
think no one wants to see anyone put their data, or livelihood in

Sometimes you just have to be the 'disappointed parent', and that's how

final question: how many mountpoints can icecast handle ?
Hi everyone
I have one final question regarding my
diploma work. As it seems, the hardware performance
seems not to be the bottleneck when streaming out
ONE stream to x clients.
What happens when I use instead of ONE stream
different streams, because my concept is an on-demand
radio station that basically provides everyone with
access to a huge library of music files and lets him

perform a lpc -P%p stop (lpc -Pcsqlis stop) or use windows to pause the

7.) sing the theme song to jeopardy for 10 secs.

General questions about security
Hi,
I admit I never gave security that much thought, that is, except the
most basic security rules like choosing good passwords, or reasonable
file and directory permissions. But now I have to change that, since
I'll soon have to setup a dedicated production server for our public
libraries.
I wonder where to begin. I would say first thing is get a series of
"auditing" tools
