bandwidth limiting - vif "rate" option
Hello everybody, i have found, that i can limit the OUTGOING bandwidth with the option "rate=" (e.g. rate=250KB/s) at the vif line in my sxp-file. I have tested it, it is working good, but why it is "only" limiting the outgoing bandwidth ? Is there any easy way to limit the incoming bandwidth too, something like the obove option ? My network setup is bridged. Thank you in

Xen 3.0 and Hyperthreading an issue?
Just gave 3.0 a spin. Had been running 2.0.7 for the past 3 months or so without problems (aside from intermittent failure during live migration). Anyway, 3.0 seems to have an issue with my machine. It starts up the 4 domains that I''ve got defined (was running 6 user domains with 2.0.7, but two of those were running 2.4 kernels which I can''t seem to build with Xen 3.0 yet, and

HVM = fully virtualized. The question is, why are you using fully virtualized domUs? Hi all I''m running CentOS 5.1 x64 + Xen 3.0 & I have setup a CentOS 5.1 x64 domU as a HMV. For the setup I used VNC, but I would prefer to be able to access it via "xm console cPanel" via SSH directly. Performance of WinXP after xen tools installed is terrible
Hi, The performance of Windows XP is dreadful. Absolutely dreadful. There are only two VMs on the machine, dom0 and domU. The system supports the Windows XP HVM domain through the good offices of the underlying dual-core AMD cpu with AMD-V technology. The system spends a huge amount of time running rundll32.exe. If I kill the executable, it speeds up a bit. The performance problem has been

are Xen 3.1.0 kernels CVE-2007-4573 vulnerable
Does anyone know if the Xen 3.1.0 kernels as distributed in the "open source" tarballs (x86_64 version) are vulnerable to the recently-announced vulnerability CVE-2007-4573? IF so, is there any plan to release patched tarballs anytime soon? Thanks Steve Timm -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Steven C. Any Xen kernel based on something newer than 2.6.18 ?
Hello all, I''m trying to get my servers to work with Xen, but as I use sata2, it looks like only a recent kernel will do the job. But unferotunately, ony and official 2.6.8 is provided, which doesn''t boot at all on those machines. I''ve tried ubuntu''s 2.6.22-xen, but ti looks very buggy. Where could we find patches for 2.6.22/23 to add Xen? How could I gete a

No adsl in dom0 - Fedora 7
Hi, I am having problems establishing an adsl connection in dom0 (but ONLY in dom0, without xen everything is ok). Following is my setup/situation: 1. Installed clean Fedora 7 (with virtualization option selected) 2. Booted with the non-xen kernel & setup adsl. Adsl connection works without any problems. 3. Rebooted with xen kernel into dom0. 4. adsl connection can no longer be activated
