RFC: HTTP based storage API
...m suck in many different ways. I don't know any server or library which provides a well-established, compatible protocol frontend with an open backend API, which could be used to easily make a custom storage backend for the LMTP/POP/IMAP frontend in any language, in any programming paradigm, irregardless of the frontend implementation. Dovecot is very close to this: it speaks IMAP to the backend, but you still have to make a nearly complete IMAP implementation, which is a PITA. Therefore I am curious about your opinion: what about an HTTP-based open backend (lib-storage) API to Dovecot? Some...

Regarding: **OFF LIST** subject declaration
Seriously, I just have to ask this question. Why mark via the subject line a message as "OFF LIST" and then send it via the normal list framework. Doing so only insures that the message is actually "ON LIST" irregardless of what nomenclature is used in the subject line. If a message is truly supposed to be "OFF LIST", then why not send it directly to its intended recipient(s)? If, on the other hand, it is meant for general review by the groups members, then why mark it "OFF LIST" to begin with?...

T100P Incoming Calls Drop
...nts. The card is connected to a channelized T-1 line (24 channels). The odd bit is that outgoing calls (Asterisk --> T-1 --> PSTN) works just fine. However, incoming calls (PSTN --> T-1 --> Asterisk) are dropped after about 20 seconds (the call is fine until it drops). This occurs irregardless of how I handle the incoming call within Asterisk (playback a message, ring an extension, whatever...). In case it is related, Asterisk does not see (or perhaps does not recognize) any DTMF on these incoming calls. My console looks normal for incoming calls until it says: == Spawn extension (longd...

[209.135.227.253], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection timed out with mobilemail.caii-dc.com. Irregardless of the errors, I can't figure out why/where the outbound email is being generated. There are many entries in the log like this, and I assume alot of it, is going through. The user never initiated it. It has to be the server itself? Plus, it's using the full name of the server which is...

exec and notify
Are exec resources triggered by notify events supposed to be run once for every event received or only run once per run irregardless of the number of resources that notified it? It seems to me that it gets run twice no matter how many resources triggered it. consider the following class: class dhcp { $prefix = "/usr/local/etc/dhcpd" $dhcpd_conf = "$prefix/dhcpd.conf" $tools_dir = "$prefix/tools"...

LSI 3GB HBA SAS Errors (and other misc)
...ander, a simple restart of the SAN into a OpenIndiana LiveCD or other distribution (NexentaStor) increments the counter. I''ve been as careful as I can be to clear the counter between changes to parts to try and eliminate a potentially bad cable/card/etc. You can see phy 8-15 throw errors irregardless of MPXIO or single card config, OR which expander port I use on the backplane. According to my VAR something in the mptsas code changed "recently" (not sure what that means in time terms) and they do not see the problems with 6GB backplanes and adapters. -------------- next part -------...

Whats required for unblockable ANI / CLID?
For our application we want to read the callers number back to them (calling in on a 800# that would somehow point to multiple lines -- figuring that all out still). I was under the impression that calls to 800#'s are unblockable by the caller (irregardless if they have caller id blocked or not). I'm not sure if this is because of ANI or CLID (or if ANI _is_ CLID) or how any of this works... Could someone break this down for me? What would I need to to do to ensure that the callers number can not be blocked & available to us (to read back...

Can Asterisk pass through SIP status codes transparently?
...configured to send outgoing PSTN traffic to a SIP to ISDN PRI gateway. When an outgoing call is unsuccessful for any reason (busy, congestion, wrong number, etc) the SIP/ISDN gateway sends back a SIP status code to Asterisk. Asterisk then sends a status code of 486 (busy here) to the user devices irregardless of the SIP status code that it received from the SIP/ISDN gateway. I can chnage the code that Asterisk sends to 503 by modifying the macro outisbusy and setting outisbusy to send a congestion status code instead of a busy status code. However this 503 status message is then sent to the end user dev...

Running Windows 2000 Login Scripts Without Password Encryption
...ssword and I have no idea how to get around that. Further problems lie in trying to get the shares that REQUIRE a username and password authenticated in the script, but I've managed a workaround for that with a heavy-handed VBscript that asks the user for their username and password again. Irregardless, this isn't the point of this question, just an indication of where I'm trying to take this. Oh, and I can logon to the domain in Windows 95 and run a logon script there, so I know that it works sometimes. It's not a syntax problem with the script either, because once I authenticate...

doubts about Silhouette
...ms by different combination of distance and link-method by calling DIST and AGNES. The agglomerative coefficient is very high (~ 0.99) for some combinations, and is generally around 0.5 for the remaining cases. As recommended, I ran the SILHOUETTE at different cuts (CUTREE) for some of the cases. Irregardless of the AC value the highest silhouette width I get is ~ 0.4 or lower, which is too low a level of confidence for accepting any clustering structure, from what I have recently read. My first question is about the use of CUTREE and SILHOUETTE. I've just found in the QA archive a statement about...

rails & sqlserver collation problems
Boa tarde pessoal.

IMAP quotas - Reasonable size?
Hello... I'm setting up dovecot (IMAP only) at an ad-agency (Lots of big files attached to mails). I'm wondering... What would you consider to be reasonable mail quota? My concern is, that some client-software will have problems with huge mailboxes. I was going to give everyone 2GB, but some users demand 15GB+. Does dovecot "prefer" mailboxes within a certain size? Looking

Interesting observation with network event notification and batching
Hi all I''m hacking on a netback trying to identify whether TLB flushes causes heavy performance penalty on Tx path. The hack is quite nasty (you would not want to know, trust me). Basically what is doesn''t is, 1) alter network protocol to pass along mfns instead of grant references, 2) when the backend sees a new mfn, map it RO and cache it in its own address space. With this

W2K Domain Login Problem with 2.2.0
...cates just fine and I am able to browse the server's shares. I am also able to join/leave the Samba-2.2.0 domain without problems. The only problem that I have encountered till date is that the users are not able to do a domain logout due to the above error message. The same problem occured irregardless of whether I am using the Redhat 6.2 Samba RPM binary file or compiled samba from the tarball. After I switched back to using 2.2.0-alpha3, users were able to login again just fine. The smb.conf file, smbpasswd, MACHINE.SID, etc were left unchanged when switching from 2.2.0-alph3 to 2.2.0 and b...

Are you trying to install the 64-bit or the 32-bit? While the install is running, some of the other virtual consoles display logs and error information. What do those show when the install rejects your disk? What result did you get trying from the HTTP install? -----Original Message----- From: centos-bounces at centos.org [mailto:centos-bounces at centos.org] On Behalf Of William Warren Sent:

Lose XHCI Device on HP Ivybridge While Resuming on Battery
...n''t happen on very similar HP Sandybridge Clash system. - Happens on battery, but not on AC. - Doesn''t happen on first suspend/resume. First resume may be long. Don''t have enough sample to be sure of this. - CPU power governor doesn''t effect the issue. Happens irregardless of governor. - Seems to effect MSI devices only. - IRQ changes appear in good resume case. Not just bad. I''ve diffed lspci output across a working resume on AC and across a bad resume on battery. There seem to be the differences unique to the bad case: 00:14.0 USB controller: Intel C...
