How to instruct Wine to use MSIE rendering engine by default instead of Gecko?
Hi, I need to debug some complex Javascript that leaks in MSIE (no leaks in Firefox though). For this purpose, I am trying to utilize programs like Drip and sIEve. Both programs fail under Wine, and my guess is, they try to use Gecko as the rendering engine (and this is not what's desired: Gecko works fine with my stuff). Now, provided that MSIE can be installed under Wine, and works, can

Paltalk
...d. I was wondering if anyone has tried this program called Paltalk. It is a voice chat program/client. They do provide a web/flash version but it is not the same as the application that is available on Windows. Initially I couldnt install it using wine, so I read somewhere that I had to install IE4Linux and MSN messenger then install Paltalk. I did that and it installed itself just fine, however, it crashes rather often (more like every 30 seconds). I was wondering if anyone else has managed to install it without any problems and could possibly guide me on how/what to do. Many thanks for the...

I'm a final Linux Revert now, no more M$ for me, and I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 that looks the best distro I'd ever tried after Xandros, I had used wine from his first begining but never tried to contribute in this great project. So, time's up to do that even that I'm now a Web Developer but I spent some good few years programing for Win32 platform, mostly in ANSI C, I still need

IE doesn't honour sub-domains for localhost
Hello I recently re-installed IE on Kubuntu 8.04 using wine with ie4linux As a web developer I host a fair few websites on my local machine which are configured using Apache and Bind. StarAlliance TravelDesk (PC-based timetable app)
The StarAlliance airline network used to have a Windows 3.x-ish timetable program that worked very well under Wine. Now they replaced it by something more fancy and Wine (0.9.59) cannot handle it. The application installs fine, starts up, but then it's frozen. You cannot enter any text in the search boxes and you cannot move the scrollbars. Can someone help me to get this going? You can

Wineserver is not shooting down
First - Wine is great. I love it totally. To login into a company website I have to use IE6 - Firefox is not handling the Web Site due to some reglementations. IE6 runs fine and there are NO problems. Only after exit, the Wineserver keeps running and takes away a lot CPU Power. I can stop it manually (System Monitor -> Process. Right Click and I can stop it (and it relieves the Power from the
