Asterisk-1.0 RC1
We have officially made the first release candidate of Zaptel, Libpri,
Asterisk and Gastman available. While there are still open major bugs,
they are relatively limited, and it was time to go ahead and get the 1.0
ball rolling in earnest.

Enjoy the code. Special thanks to all the bug marshals and contributers
and to everyone who has supported Asterisk

This occurs every now and then even though there's no one on the phone.
I sit there by the desk, and all off a sudden the VM light goes off. I pick up
the phone and I can make calls. No indication on how it would be busy.
I don't see any entries on the * console, other than the caller is told it's

secrets.tbd going corrupt on powerfailure?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

We're power failing a unit before it goes into production, and we've
noticed that every time we fail it during a data transfer, smbd loses
the domain connection. I've traced it down to the secrets.tdb file.
After a power failure, tdbdump secrets.tdb says:

I'm experiencing frequent kernel panics when using the X100P card under

causing a series of oopses followed by a complete crash.
I have just hacked the kernel to reenable 8k stacks and will see

Asterisk and zaptel on Fedora Core 2
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Dear all.
As I couldn't get to compile and run Asterisk 1.0RC1 on my default
RedHat 9 I thought it was about time to upgrade to Fedora Core 2. Well,
it was too late to realize the kernel 2.6 wasn't supported by Asterisk
*officially* anyway.
Here is what I did to get asterisk and zaptel to work under Fedora Core

having "make" fail because smbd/quota.h could not find <devnm.h>. I got no
suggestions as to how to work out what the problem was. I have now identified why
the problem arose and that moves me to the next problem!

Any Windows XP SP2 RC2 Experience?
Earlier today I installed Windows XP SP2 RC2 onto
two of my production machines. My test boxes were
fine, but the two production machines I installed
them on failed to print in Adobe Reader and IE.
I've got a Samba 2.2.9 DC with a CUPS printing
backend.
Anyway, I've backed off the SP on both production
machines, and I'm going to try to replicate the
issue with another test box, but

Rpm for Redhat v7.1
Hi
Could you suggest where I can download a samba-2.2.6 or samba-2.2.9 rpm
for Redhat Linux v7.1.
I am presently using a samba-2.2.3a server but Windows XP clients create
extra files when saving or copying to this samaba server.
Best regards,
