issue with Digium TDM410P
The TDM410P doesn't support 'hvac', only the obsolete TDM400P supports that option was for the old phones that have a neon light (or equivalent LED+ZENER ciruit). Are other phones off the TDM410P (other than the VTECH) working, or is the Vtech the only model with VMWI available to you. I'm not able to check at the moment,...

CentOS-5.8 - Problem booting remote host
Kernel 2.6.18-308.8.2.el5 I recently experienced an odd problem with a host at our warm-site location. The facility we use suffered an hvac failure during elevated ambient temperatures (30C+) on Monday past and the equipment room reportedly cooked for some hours. It was sufficient that our equipment shutdown. In all probability this was due to an over-temp condition since the systems are all powered from a UPS but possibly there was a...

some fixes, improvements, and new features (EPO and DYING) for NUT
...ot; state to power things down safely but quickly when they detect operating temperatures above a configurable maximum value. The one driver that already supported use of the ALARM state also sets an alarm when the temperature rises above a configurable warning value. The idea here is that if the HVAC fails in your computer room then you can have everything automatically shut down _AND_ stop pouring BTUs out into the room, and of course hopefully first raise an alarm so that a human can try to intervene before an emergency power off is actually necessary to prevent equipment damage. Indeed the...

Combined Marimekko/heatmap
Hi all, I'm trying to figure out a way to create a data graphic that I haven't ever seen an example of before, but hopefully there's an R package out there for it. The idea is to essentially create a heatmap, but to allow each column and/or row to be a different width, rather than having uniform column and row height. This is sort of like a Marimekko chart in appearance, except that

Shutdown/poweroff does not power off machine
I've got a Dell Optiplex GX240 I am running CentOS 5.4 (kernel 2.6.18-164.9.1.el5.centos.plus)... When I had Fedora 11 and 12 on it, I could issue a poweroff command and the machine would power itself off. However, under CentOS it doesn't turn the machine off whatsoever. When it completes, the machine is still running with a message of "system halted." Then I have to

Possible memdisk issue
...e are mostly blank superfloppies of many different sizes at various websites, for example http://bootcd.narod.ru/images_e.htm . That is, instead of enlarging an existing image, just start with a working one of the size you need. I tried the 11.52mb one in a VM and it booted. Our building's HVAC system mysteriously stopped running a minute later, but I understand that can't be related. 10) Finally, having learned all this, it's not so hard to just construct a superfloppy of your desired size from scratch entirely within Linux: use mkdosfs to create an empty image file and hold...

OT: high static in server room
Hi guys, Sorry for the OT. For the last couple of weeks I notice that the static in my server room is worrisomely noticeable. I cannot see what may be causing it.... Care to share some of your experience what may be the cause and the remedy? Thank you.

Asterisk to switch on electric heaters remotely?
Hello I'm sure someone has already tried this: I use a couple of electric heaters to heat my office. I'd like to somehow connect them to Asterisk so that I could switch them on remotely by either calling the IVR or sending an e-mail to the Asterisk host, so that the room is warm when I get to the office :-) Any information appreciated. Thank you.
