macromedia homesite cannot browse share - no path
Hello,
I have my samba share running and I can access everything just fine from
my windows XP work station.
However I have a problem with macromedia homesite. I can see but not
open the share because homesite thinks I do not have access.
I have captured the network traffic with a sniffer and it seems the path
is a problem..
Here is a snip of my network traffic where 192.168.0.9 is my linux sever
and 192.168.0.20 is my work station:

Dreamweaver 4 & Homesite 4.5
Hi,
I'm new to Wine and I use Mandrake 7.2 distro with the default Wine.
I setup up wine with WineSetupTK it works with some softwares but not with
Dreamweaver and Homesite. Could anyone send or post in the newsgroup his/her
wine.conf file (to have a look at it)? Dreamweaver was requiring 2 dlls that
I downloaded and installed in my /winnt/system folder. I don't see any dll
related problem anymore but Dreamweaver still does not work.
Help would be greatly apprec...

- ADVICE: Windows registry does not seem to be added to Wine. This can affect many newer programs.
I have installed Homesite 4.5 with it's installation binary which also worked fine,
but when I run Homesite I get the following output:

Samba 3 problems with file read/writes
...mnature, cdbooks

I can mount this share OK, and do simple file operations, but something
changed between Samba 2 and Samba 3 which makes file operations from my HTML
editor, HomeSite, go south, although they worked fine with Samba 2.
Homesite modifies files on the server using a samba share. It makes a
temporary working copy of a file in the same directory as the live copy,
prefixed with "~hs". The built-in browser (IE) accesses this file and

Strange problem with 3.0.4
Dear list,
I recently updated my servers from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4.
After that upgrade I discover a strange problem:
I can mount/browse/whatever shares with Windows Explorer, MSIE, Firefox
... but I cannot use a mounted share with Macromedia Homesite. I can't
see anything in my logs, I allways get a "Connection refused. Maybe you
are not authorized to use this share."-message.
I downgraded to 3.0.3, same problem. So I went back to 3.0.2 and
everything worked fine again.
Anyone knows what's going wrong here?
Bye,
Michael

Simple websites (no DB?) with Rails??
...a separate controller and view(s)
for each page, make the RHTML look real nice and link them all
(links_to). (some of these may or may not be a little dynamic) The
reason I ask::: I am fully aware that there are much easier ways to
simply build a website and be done with it, such as ''homesite'', or
''frontpage''. I ask for two reasons: 1. I like Rails and prefer to
keep using the same process of development (especially when i am new)
for all projects no matter how small. AND 2. I know that often these
types of projects start out one way and then end up entirely...

getting closer to run homesite4.5
Thanks to Dimitry's tip I'm getting closer to run Allair's Homesite4.5 but I reached a point
where I don't know how to debug the remaining problem(s).
I used to get a runtime error, but with getting native stdole32.tlb this doesn't appear any more.
Now I have 2 scenarios:
1.) starting with native comctl32.dll (and commctrl.dll)
- the small centeres wind...

[1.2-rc7]-Really High CPU % Running Steam?
Hi,
I'm running current Steam client in Wine 1.2-rc7 on Ubuntu 10.04 32bit.
My CPU usage for "Steam.exe" is 90%+?
(have a Intel Core2Quad 2.4GHz CPU 4 core)
Any idea on how to fix this?
its slowing down my entire computer!
(also running both Windows XP and OS X virtual machines)
Thanks!
PS - I HOPE STARCRAFT 2 WILL WORK IN WINE :)

Samba 3.0.3 and NTBackup in WinXP
Hello.
We are having a really strange problem and I have been searching the net all
day for a answer.
We are trying to restore files from NTBackup to a Samba share using
alternate pathing in ntbackup.
The samba machine is a Solaris 8 machine with Samba 3.0.3 beeing a member of
out AD domain.
We map the samba share to Y:\ on the XP machine using a named account in AD,

File changes not being written immediately
...is when we save the file in the
editor, the changes are not immediately written to disk. It can take
anywhere from 10 to 45 seconds for the changes to appear on the server. I
can test this by saving a file from Windows and using VI on the server. The
problem is exhibited most prominently by Allaire Homesite 4.5 but it also
occurs less frequently in other editors we have experimented with. Any
ideas?
Thanks!

Shadow passwords

worth a try. I did this over the weekend to keep our network functional
workdays...
But now I've seen that only me can write and read properly from the
different shares. The other users (I set up user level security as
before) have some strange problems like out of the program "homesite
(win95)" another user can only save the file after the third try.
The first try gives an ERROR: unable to save file...
The second try gives an FILE NOT FOUND - error
and then the third try will actually save the file...
So when all other users log into the network using my own name and

samba slow at overwriting of files
...hink, but with the same problem). now I have the problem, that
overwriting of files on shares of that samba machine sometimes is extremely
slow. writing new files is fast as ever. but what seems interesting to me is,
that it depends on how I'm overwriting files.
for example I'm working with homesite 5, which needs up to 15sec to
overwrite a simple html file. ultraedit(a text editor) on the other hand has no
problems with overwriting.
an other example: copying files with windows commander (now: total
commander) is extremely slow too if I'm copying files that already exist on the target
