centos 5 smp kerne vrs centos 4 smp kernel ???l
...n I do a rpm -qa | grep kern* I get this kernel-devel-2.6.18-8.1.3.el5 kernel-2.6.18-8.1.3.el5 kernel-headers-2.6.18-8.1.3.el5 It is interesting that I did have this issue with my first Compaq DL380 load with slightly faster dual PIII's Centos 4 always found both processors automatically... hmmmmm, now... what part of my brains have done fell out my ears that I am not seeing the obvious solution on this one??? After searching for quite some time, I concluded that the info on this returned way too much noise... Thanks in advance... - rh -- Abba Communications Spokane, WA www.abbacomm.net

If (x > 0)
...oblem: For arguments 1 and -1 it works as intended. For 0 (zero) it does not. If the 0 value is passed into the function named "conditional1" I would expect both if-statements to evaluate to false and 0 being return. From what I can tell (0 < 0) evaluates to true since -1 is returned. Hmmmmm... What is going on? What am I doing wrong? Why is this happening? I am baffled! Any help would be appreciated. OT: Creating documentation using a web interface
Hello all, I would like to document some things I am doing with asterisk, but would prefer to do this from a web interface. I am unfamiliar with any software that allows you to create online documentation from a web interface. Ideally I will be able to create documentation online from a browser, which then when saved, is immediately ready to be read online. Perhaps I can setup different authors

Occasional robotic sound while call in progress
...call file). We've been told that the party listening to the audio files intermittantly hears "robotic" sounding audio (on/off during the same call). Anyone have ideas on cause? These calls are on an internal network (lots of network bandwidth), and from a server running 99% idle. Hmmmmm -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Ruby on Rails is great! - I can code while smashed!
Ruby on Rails is great! - It''s so easy ... I can code while smashed and still get work done! I work from home. I code hard and get a lot done. Ruby on Rails makes my productivity so much higher than I can actually be drunk ... and still impress my boss! It''s great. Do you have experiences like this? Do you code better while unable to walk the line? Does the loosening

Automatically locating domain controller
I apologise for not knowing the answer to this, especially as I saw it was discussed on the mailing lists but can't find the original article (even searching the archives). Our support teams would like a single smb.conf that can be used as a default world-wide. (allowing for a minimal modification of the "workgroup=" field) This means that you're stuck for what to put in your

[CentOS-announce] Release for CentOS Linux 7 (1503 ) on x86_64

I wonder how the proposed 7.1.1503 became 7.1503 in practice. Bait and switch? Personally I do not care one way or the other what RH tells Centos to call itself. The priests can decide and the faithful can either put up with it or change pews. But I find it somewhat distressing to view otherwi...

The versioning of the ISO's is 7.1503 (in one way of reading the actual name; you could read it as 7 spin 1503 or whatnot), but my /etc/centos-release says: [lowen at dhcp-pool114 ~]$ cat /etc/centos-rele...

CentOS - HP
Hi Does anyone have experience of running CentOS on HP hardware, both rack mount kit and blades? How are things like hardware monitoring etc? We may be moving from Dell to HP and i get on really well with OMSA and Nagios etc so ideally would like to monitor using similar tools rather than some central 'enterprise' dashboard etc. Any real world experience? thanks

Must I remove gnome-kerberos-0.3.1-9?
I managed to setup samba3.0 as a win2k domain member, and modified smb.conf & krb5.conf. But when I try kinit administrator@domain, I got an error. --> kinit(v5):KDC has no support for encryption type while getting initial credentials I found gnome-kerberos-0.3.1-9 was shipped with RH9. Did it support all kerberos function Samba3 need? Must I remove it and install MIT or Heimdal

Asterisk on Zonbu, impact of transcoding
Zonbu.com sells a little box I was planning to use as a router, but I couldn't resist putting Asterisk on it just for fun. It may never see its intended purpose. The box costs US$249 (and was delivered 40 hours after being orderd!), but you can get it for less if you subscribe to their service. I didn't. The box is an Intel compatible processor (VIA Esther processor 1200MHz) with

How to Selectively Quite SQL Logging
I know about logger.silence but here is the issue: I''m comfortable with the way the user engine is working, but it generates quite a bit of SQL noise in the logs. I''d like, for that engine, to suppress the SQL logging. Code in it has return statements in conditionals, e.g., if !user? RAILS_DEFAULT_LOGGER.debug "checking guest authorisation for

How to get in touch with sixTel?
If anybody here is a sixTel customer, can you share any tips & tricks for getting in touch with anybody there? They are absurdly hard to get a hold of, particularly when you have a technical issue needing to be resolved. If anyone has any phone numbers other than their main 800 line, I'd sure appreciate it. Hello I'm new to the list. I went through recent archives and didn't find any mention of this, sorry if this has already been discussed. When i tried going back in and went back to the stream it worked for a few minutes again and crashed. The times are different (8:27 and 6:20, and

Someone told me to mount samba with mount -t smb -o username=***,pasword=*** \\192.168.0.1\folder /destination, but when I do this I get
