German Phrase
Hi German users,
Can one of you guys give me a German Phrase that I can use to
demonstrate tokenizing non-ascii text. Preferably something about 40
bytes long with lots of umlauts and perhaps a ?.

I've googled reports of theora-mmx on AMD64... and have found some
hazy results suggesting that people have got theora-mmx working on
AMD64. Can anyone give me any tips on getting it to work? Thanks a

Samba 3.0 and LDAP as a PDC
Hello all,
I hope this is an easy one, I've read all the howtos but I'm still very hazy
on how to do this. What I want to do is replace my NT4 PDC with a Samba 3.0
PDC with an LDAP backend.
I've got my OpenLDAP up and running with the basic People, Computers and
Groups ou's.
I've put the builtin NT groups in too.
I have Samba 3.0 functioning as a BDC

[LLVMdev] NEON intrinsics preventing redundant load optimization?
...ues on
> wrong-endian targets.
The ARM ACLE docs recommend against the GCC extension that allows an initializer list because of potential endianness issues:
float32x4_t values = {1, 2, 3, 4};
I don’t recall seeing anything about pointer dereferencing, but it may have the same issues. I’m a bit hazy on endianness issues with NEON anyway (in terms of element numbering, casts between types, etc) but it seems like all the smartphone platform ABIs are defined to be little-endian so I haven’t spent too much time worrying about it.

Add vorbis_dsp_init() ?
Hi,
This mozilla bug report is a crash triggered by a Vorbis file with
corrupt headers:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481601
The patch to fix the crash adds a new vorbis_dsp_init() function to
libvorbis, and calls
that from fs_vorbis_init() in libfishsound:
https://bug481601.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=366150
The public function it adds is:

openssh-2.1.1p2 problem and fix
...(255) = ?
I may be wrong, but it does say read(4, "root: ...." so is it not reading my
username in the shadow file.
I've also had odd problems with openssh-2.1.1p1.tar.gz on FreeBSD 3.5-STABLE,
maybe i'll go into that one another day as my memory is hazy at the moment.
My configuration files are the standard ones when installed.
When I set the link back on /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/linux-2.2.12 and
recompiled openssh **sshd actually worked**.
Also note that when sshd was run under Linux-2.4.0-test1 but recompiled
under 2.2.12 it **ran as expect...

Samba & NSS_LDAP
...with
OpenLDAP and nss_ldap.
It seems that the reason the smbd process keeps crashing (and thus
losing connections) has something to do with the fact that the LDAP
standard allows connections to be unilaterally closed by the directory
server, and this was causing Samba to crash.
Again - this is my hazy recollection of the thread.
I'm seeing this behavior in my setup (Samba LDAP-based PDC). Is my
summary above (mostly) correct? Is there a fix for this? Is it included
as part of 2.2.6 or is it a problem with OpenLDAP/nss_ldap?
We plan to do a rather large Samba install soon, and I'd lik...

TBF settings
I presently use TBF with this syntax:
tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:100 tbf buffer=15000/8 LIMIT=30000 MTU=1500
parent class is a cbq with rate=128Kbit
when I want to add PEAK, I get always RTNETLINK error: Invalid argument. Maybe be I don''t understand this parameter. What I know about it, it''s that it can control short-term burst traffic, and it''s what I need to do.

I'm trying an experiment to eliminate the r2r map altogether. Is there
an efficient way to replace all references to a virtual register? That
is, given a virtual regist...

Access Error for Roaming Profiles Share
...ke our Win boxes connect to the roaming profiles share with
computer-account credentials initially. Other shares, such as 'Users', are
being accessed with respective user credentials, and everything works as
expected; ie., no "change_to_user_internal" error message.
I am a bit hazy on the internals here, so before I dump config settings for
all the usual suspects, my question is whether this is expected behavior for
domain-joined machines? Windows ACLs on the 'Profiles' directory have been
set according to the corresponding Samba Wiki article, including 'Full...

Anyone got any ideas about how to get the darned things to close when

[LLVMdev] Need help in converting int to double
Good to know, thanks.
The docs are slightly hazy on that - they do mention type-to-type if same size, but the examples are only between pointers and integers, not floats. Would it be worthwhile my updating the documentation to explicitly state that or is it just me?
Cheers,
James

Hrm, yes, yes it appears so. Question is: doesn't this make the r2r map
dead? Does something else fill it in? My memory is hazy here :). If it
is dead, we should rip it out (actually, we should make it private to the
coallescer function).

100 users - voip lan security and qos ?
i have a customer that needs to plug the phones into the pc's
using the pass-through rj45 available on most sip phones
the question they are asking me is how to keep the data network
separate from / secure from the voip network
i understand they can set up vlans but i am hazy on a few details
1
since the phones are plugged into the pc's how will the phones
be segmented into their own vlan ?
2
assuming the phone sends out a tos bit, how can we confirm
that the customer's switch can read the tos bit and correctly
prioritize it ?

[LLVMdev] Need help in converting int to double

You can bitcast ints to floats and vice-versa if they're the same size — for example, i32 to float and i64 to double.

question on authentication
...enge/response game for
authentication? It seemed possible from a few posts on the list, but I was
unable to find documentation other than the manpage.
Using mode = server and the Samba server running on the metadata server as
the password server could be another option, but details there are very hazy
for me.
Thanks,
