Hi German users, Can one of you guys give me a German Phrase that I can use to demonstrate tokenizing non-ascii text. Preferably something about 40 bytes long with lots of umlauts and perhaps a ?. Cheers, Dave

compiling theora-mmx on AMD64
Hi all, I'm a Theora noob and just taking a look at the theora-mmx package in hopes of making Thoggen run faster for DVD ripping. I've checked out the latest svn of the theora-mmx branch and trying to compile it on Ubuntu Dapper AMD64. I run autogen.sh, then make, and soon get the following errors: make[2]: Entering directory `/home/dlenski/theora-mmx/lib' if /bin/sh ../libtool

Samba 3.0 and LDAP as a PDC
Hello all, I hope this is an easy one, I've read all the howtos but I'm still very hazy on how to do this. What I want to do is replace my NT4 PDC with a Samba 3.0 PDC with an LDAP backend. I've got my OpenLDAP up and running with the basic People, Computers and Groups ou's. I've put the builtin NT groups in too. I have Samba 3.0 functioning as a BDC The trouble is

[LLVMdev] NEON intrinsics preventing redundant load optimization?

Add vorbis_dsp_init() ?
Hi, This mozilla bug report is a crash triggered by a Vorbis file with corrupt headers: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481601 The patch to fix the crash adds a new vorbis_dsp_init() function to libvorbis, and calls that from fs_vorbis_init() in libfishsound: https://bug481601.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=366150 The public function it adds is: void

openssh-2.1.1p2 problem and fix
Hi all, trawled through the archives and did'nt find what I was looking for so here goes. This may be common knowledge or may not for the developers here ... maybe it will save someone some time anyhow. I'm running Redhat 6.2, **2.4.0-test1 kernel**, openssh-2.1.1p2.tar.gz, openssl-0.9.5a.tar.gz, with these options. sh configure --with-tcp-wrappers --with-md5-passwords

Samba & NSS_LDAP
Hi all! A while ago I caught a discussion re Samba and LDAP SAM backend, with OpenLDAP and nss_ldap. It seems that the reason the smbd process keeps crashing (and thus losing connections) has something to do with the fact that the LDAP standard allows connections to be unilaterally closed by the directory server, and this was causing Samba to crash. Again - this is my hazy recollection of the

TBF settings
I presently use TBF with this syntax: tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:100 tbf buffer=15000/8 LIMIT=30000 MTU=1500 parent class is a cbq with rate=128Kbit when I want to add PEAK, I get always RTNETLINK error: Invalid argument. Maybe be I don''t understand this parameter. What I know about it, it''s that it can control short-term burst traffic, and it''s what I need to do.

Access Error for Roaming Profiles Share
Hi, I am trying to address some error messages that are hitting the log files for two 4.9.5-Debian file servers in our all-Samba AD domain. Most prominently "connect to service Profiles initially as user MYDOMAIN\tc-mj00y2ps$ (uid=11128, gid=10515) (pid 1634)" "../source3/smbd/uid.c:453(change_to_user_internal)" "change_to_user_internal: chdir_current_service()

PXELinux
Greetings: I'm hoping PXE linux can help me with my problem... I'm trying to setup a PXE based install server under Linux that can host Linux (SLES9, Slackware) and Windows (NT4, 2000, XP, 2K3) Install images. I would ideally like to be able to have a PXE compliant host boot, and prompt me to pick an image to boot. Has anyone ever done this before?.. I have ISO images stored on the

Lightbox-eske Dialogish Object
So, one of the things I''ve always wanted to do was expand upon the simplicity of the Lightbox Gone Wild! object that the coders at www.particletree.com put together months ago. I used it on an application I wrote to organize my own picture albums on my localhost web server, but I had to hack it apart to get it to do the things I wanted it to do. I looked at the Prototype Window

[LLVMdev] Need help in converting int to double
Good to know, thanks. The docs are slightly hazy on that - they do mention type-to-type if same size, but the examples are only between pointers and integers, not floats. Would it be worthwhile my updating the documentation to explicitly state that or is it just me? question on authentication
Hi there, I am trying to come up with a solution to the current Samba authentication voes on the gateway server for our distributed file system. We currently use smbpasswd file on the gateway server for authentication, which is not a secure way and requires each user to be specifically added in. I do not have much experience with Samba, so I am still learning quite a bit as I jump from
