Groupwise errors
I'm trying to run the 32bit version of Groupwise. So far I can install it without any major hickups but when I actually start to run the Grpwise.exe it will prompt me to login to the groupwise mail server but bombs out with a debug xterm. It appears to be able to connect to the groupwise server ok for verifying the password. If I put in a bog...

Groupwise 5.5 Client under Wine?
Hello all, Has anyone ever tried running Novell's Groupwise client under Wine (either the 16-bit or 32-bit ver)? The 32-bit version requires windows messaging - but I think I can get away with the 16-bit version...... Anyone?

Proxy Access (Manager/Secretary) Best Practices?
I've mostly got our dovecot+postfix+SOGo+openldap open source groupware replacement working the way I want it to; we're replacing GroupWise in our organization and I'm thrilled to be doing it. I'm supporting about 1,000 active staff users (and another 6,000 student accounts). I've got e-mail and calendar sharing working, and it does what it says it will do, but it is (go figure) different in concept from Proxy access unde...

Offsite server replication solution via Internet
Hi Some of our smaller Central London clients (5 to 25 terminals), who use the NetWare & GroupWise software from Novell Small Business Suite 6, are becoming increasingly concerned about the possibility of their offices becoming inaccessible for a prolonged period in the event of a terrorist attack. We've been asked to provide a low cost solution consisting of replicated offsite servers to ca...

Xen and I/O Intensive Loads
Hi, folks, I''m attempting to run an e-mail server on Xen. The e-mail system is Novell GroupWise, and it serves about 250 users. The disk volume for the e-mail is on my SAN, and I''ve attached the FC LUN to my Xen host, then used the "phy:/dev..." method to forward the disk through to the domU. I''m running into an issue with high I/O wait on the box (~250%) and lar...

Passing additional paramaters to nlsList(nlme) fit function
Hello, nls-users, is it possible to pass additional parameters to the model function that are known and groupwise constant with nlsList? I could not find something like a "keep this fixed" option in the documentation and the code (my fault...?) The current workaround is to break the problem down into groups and use globals to pass the constant parameters, but it is ugly code and won't work when...

imap proxy setup - "killed with signal 11"
hi- i'm setting up an imap proxy in front of a novell groupwise server. it seems to so far be partially working, but dovecot is having trouble in certain cases. i expect that it's ultimately due to what i believe is a very poor implementation of imap provided by groupwise [at least based on other experiences in the past] - but that's a big part of...

Antivirus logging linux
Hey Guys, I have a network of windows clients with a couple of linux servers for various tasks. What I would like to do is have some form of antivirus on the clients that will log alerts to something on a linux server and store the info in sql. Anybody have any idea on something that can do this? I tried asking on the securityfocus virus list and I emailed grisoft about their network product.

Significant performance problems
Hi all, I'm sure my issues are a result of misconfiguration, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm getting pressure to move us back to GroupWise, which I desperately want to avoid :-/ We're running dovecot 1.2.9 on Ubuntu 10.4 LTS+postfix. The server is a VM with 1 vCPU and 4GB of RAM. We serve about 10,000 users with anywhere from 500-1000 logged in at any one time. Messages are stored in Maildir format on two NFS servers (one for...

Re: Linux EXT3 support? problems flushing?
Paul, I don't know if this helps but I'm running RH7.2 on ext3 with Samba 2.2.1a & Quotas, I haven't heard any users complain yet, (300 total users). I don't believe any of them are using Outlook though, but they are using the Samba for their Groupwise MailArchive. Hope this helps... -Dusty > -----Original Message----- > From: Gerald Carter [mailto:jerry@samba.org] > Sent: Saturday, February 16, 2002, 5:51 AM > To: Paul Miller <paul-samba@pinheiro.tcimet.net> > Cc: samba@lists.samba.org > Subject: Re: [Samba] Linux EXT...

ggplot2: deterministic position_jitter & geom_line with position_jitter
...ata=example.data,shape=group,position=position_jitter(w=0.1,h=0)) For x=1, the foo point is to the left of the bar point, and for x=3 the other way around. I would like to have all foo points at seq(1,3)-epsilon and all bar points at seq(1,3)+epsilon. Do I need to manually modify example.data$x groupwise for this? 2) geom_line with position_jitter - when I call multiple geoms with position_jitter, each geom gets its own jittering. For example (continuing with example.data above): set.seed(2009) qplot(x,y,data=example.data,geom=c("point","line"),shape=group,position=position_...

Getting Groupwise to run setup.exe
Hello I'm having trouble trying to run setup.exe from either the 32bit or 16bit versions of Groupwise. I copied the win32 version of ncftp.exe and was able to get it to load up ok. Both Xen and VirtualBox On the Same Physical Host?
Hi all, I have a Sun x2200 named Adra running OpenSolaris 2008.11 set up as a Dom0 per Levon''s instructions on this site. It hosts some production services and has been running nice and stable for a number of months now (with NetWare DomUs running GroupWise, believe it or not). The machine is pretty nicely speced out and there''s room for more virtualisation, so I was thinking of trying out the demo VM image of Comms Suite 6u1; however, the image is a VirtualBox image, not Xen. Can I safely install VirtualBox 3.0 on Adra alongside the Xen 3....

Antw: Re: STATUS_SHARE_VIOLATION when Read while Write on GPFS + CTDB
Hello Volker, I was able to get those level 10 logs - spitted by machine. Unfortunately I don't know how attachments behave - Groupwise seems not to be happy with those - so I try the redundant way: Here are the logfiles for this event (only one machine, one try): https://www.bitmammut.de/WDR/log.klnmszap32 In this file there are about 3 occurrences of the "NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION". The first is in line 2661. Also...

OCFSv2 in a mail cluster environment
Hello, First, thanks to all the people who helped to license this software under the GPL. This is a very important piece of work for the Free Software in the Enterprise Market. Just a few newbie questions. We've been thinking about implmenting a mail cluster with a Fiber SAN (IBM DS-4000) and OCFSv2 as the storage backend. The information on this volume will essentially be Postfix Maildirs,

Microsoft Visual C++ available for zero cost
I just found this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/vctoolkit2003/ I don''t tend to pay much attention to Microsoft and MS Windows, so perhaps everyone else already knew about it. Basically, they have released a command-line-only version of their C++ compiler and libraries for free (gratis) downloading. I assume this version would be able to compile wxRuby, but would be
