serialize array finder
Hello, Not sure if this is even possible/practical but I''d like to serialize an array to a string field like this and then be able to match against it. User.find(:all, :conditions => ["interests in (?)",current_user.interests) Am I better of not denormalizing? How would this be done with ordinary A/R relationships because I''m not looking for an exact match,

[patch] Mac Universal Binaries
Well, I don't quite understand why AC_C_BIGENDIAN and the solution you're proposing is likely to break other big endian machines (the ones that don't have __BIG_ENDIAN__). Can you send a patch that addresses that (i.e. still uses AC_C_BIGENDIAN when it works)? Jean-Marc Peter Grayson a ?crit : > Hi all, > > Speex currently decides endianness at configure-time. [patch] typos in manual
Hi Jean-Marc, I was reading through the very good and very thorough speex manual and I found a couple of typos. I thought I might give a little back to the project with this small patch. Also, on the website, the HTML documentation (online and tarball) are still 1.2beta2 as is all of the API Reference. Thanks for all your efforts. Vorbis 1.0.1 release compile errors (libvorbis, vorbistools)
Well, I grabbed the tarballs this morning and found that of the three new releases, only libogg1.1 would compile without and issue. I had to recompile my flac1.1.0 for ogg support, and it gave me a new error (or I wasnt paying attention, anyway...) it will finish compiling and install, but I only ran make check on the original compile, not the new one with OggFLAC attached and stuff...

Web-based Ruby Syntax Highlighter
Hi all, Last night, I wrote a web-based syntax highlighter that takes Ruby and produces nice HTML of the code, ready for including on web pages, or in blog posts, or whatever. I don''t know how useful it will be for other people, but feel free to use it. Anyway, the URL is : http://syntax.carldr.com/ Any comments/suggestions would be gratefully received. Enjoy!

[patch] Mac Universal Binaries
Hi all, Speex currently decides endianness at configure-time. This causes the ppc half of Mac universal binaries to have some endianness problems. Most notably, the header built by speex_packet_to_header() has incorrect byte-ordering. This Apple developer page describes the incantation that can be used to build universal binaries on Mac. It also highlights the configure-time versus compile-time

flash[:notice] with remote_format_for
This has been asked before but I didn''t find an elegant solution. How do you display validations errors when you''re doing a remote_format_for (or in my case form_for with UJS) This is what I came up with in the partial but there was to be a more elegant solution also this displays the field names with underscores, the flash[:notice] way seems to display cleaned up business

acts_as_ferret issue on windows
I installed ferret-0.11.5-x86-mswin32 successfully but I''m having no luck with either the acts_as_ferret gem or the plugin.
