migrate from physical disk problems in xen
...ls I figured to try and create a new 300G drive, format it from win2k, and then somehow transfer the files from Linux into win2k, without losing any of the permissions / etc which I guess will be somewhat challenging. Any suggestions, or advise would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Adam -- Adam Goryachev Website Managers www.websitemanagers.com.au

How to demo the Power of Asterisk
Hi all, I have the opportunity to demo asterisk to a large group of people, and was just wandering *how* to do that? ie, I can put a couple of phones on a desk, which looks nice, but doesn't really look exciting, because they are just phones.... so, how do you 'demo' the true power of asterisk?? Hopefully I'll have a couple of minutes to stand up and talk, and then the rest of

cdr_odbc with mysql on a remote server
I'm trying to add cdr_odbc.so to log my CDR data to a mysql DB. I've managed to compile everything, and seem to almost be ready to head home. I've added a small debug line to cdr_odbc.c as follows: if((ODBC_res != SQL_SUCCESS) && (ODBC_res != SQL_SUCCESS_WITH_INFO)) { if(option_verbose > 10) ast_verbose(

CallerID in Australia
Well, Once upon a time, I had problems receiving callerid, and then one day, Mark was logged into my asterisk box helping with something else, and I asked him about this, and he showed me a nice tweak to some source file that made it work. Some time later, I must have done hundreds of CVS updates, and along the way, lost the above patch (one liner) and so callerID hasn't worked for a long

Sending voicemail with qmail
you can do that. But are u installing qmail and * on same box. i wont recommend that. i use qmail and *. qmail is strictly for internet email. * is on separate server not exposed to Internet. * box also has sendmail. i hv configured sendmail to use smart host (qmail server). This way its safe and secure. HTH, -B ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ing Isianto Istiadi"

No Asterisk Sounds on SUSE ES 9/Linux 2.6
I installed SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 that uses a Linux 2.6.5 kernel. When I installed the OS, I chose a minimal package install. I compiled the latest asterisk out of CVS. So far things have gone OK. I can establish phone calls (SIP, TDM, etc) and the quality is good. Only problem is that I can get no sound out of Asterisk itself: prompts, comedian mail prompts, etc. I can see messages on

Australian Options
I would just like to get a refresh of the situation for Australian users. It would seem that the TE400P is currently available and is likely to acheive approval for use in Australia within the next 2 months ? (when is the end of summer?). Once this is done, it will certainly suit larger installations, but it still leaves a number of 'gaps'. Anyone with analog phone lines will need

Decent Asterisk Compatible VoIP HardPhone - Australia
Gee, I think the subject says the right thing. I've looked at the wiki at the various phones available, and basically I think what I am after is one of the following phones: Polycom Aastra 480i Zulty's Zip 4x4 Although after just reading through the review linked from the wiki, and the polycom website, it seems like these are one of the better phones, right up there with the cisco's?

Suggested Motherboard for TE410P
Hi all, I'm looking for a new system which will use the TE410P. Originally I was going to use a dual Athlon MP system, but my supplier tells me these are being phased out now, and so will be difficult to find replacement parts later. So, I am looking for suggestions of suitable motherboards with 3.3V PCI slots for the following CPU types (in order of my personal preference) AMD Opteron 1xx

Polycom and call waiting again..
I searched and read all the relevant posts, but I still don't have a solution to my problem.. I've got a small queue for tech support calls using AddQueueMember. The agents are using IP300's from polycom. In my example, only one agent is logged int. When a call comes into the queue, asterisk sends the call to the one agent logged in. The agent answers and is talking to the

ADSI Analogue phones
I'm trying to work out whether I want an ADSI phone or not, and in fact, whether it is ... useful/works with Asterisk. I have decided that for the cost/performance of the various IP based phones, I am not interested, I seem to get significantly better quality from a plain analogue phone using the TDM40B card. Is it beneficial to get an ADSI phone as opposed to a plain old analogue phone from
