[Asterisk-Users] gnophone/IAX problem
Greetings everyone, I'm still a newbie, so please indulge me. I have set up an asterisk server on my RH9 boxes for testing. Instead of immediately launching into the hardware aspect of it I decided to go with 2 IAX clients (gnophone) which I placed on 2 other strategic machines within my LAN. Here's my problem, on one of the IAX clients (gnophone) I am able to do the asterisk demo extension 600, extension 1234, etc; however from the second client each time I enter one of these extensions it merely disconnects on me. The real strangeness to this problem is that I can call either extension from the other extension fine. In my extensions.conf file I just have a basic setup identifying each client and assigning an extension basically. My iax.conf file is pretty basic as well, see below: [gnophone1] type=friend context=default context=iaxprovider host=192.168.50.1 user=user1 [gnophone2] type=friend context=default context=iaxprovider host=192.168.50.4 user=user2 I'm at a loss at what the problem might be, can anyone help me here? I believe both of the versions of gnophone are the same but I'm not sure as I downloaded them at different times. I've been in the lib directories and everywhere and can't seem to determine what version they are. I've even typed gnophone --version at the command line with no help. If there is anyone who has any idea of what the problem might be or how I might rectify it please let me know. I would like to continue to grow in my new asterisk journey. AJ
I doubt that this is your problem, but I had a similar problem a while ago and it was because I was using a codec on the client that Asteirsk could not transcode to/from for the demo audio.
