Trouble Ticket System
Hi, Last year, I tried to installed and evaluate the following OSS web base trouble ticketing system. This is for me to track history on our IT related issues. Those that I tried are the PHP Ticket, DanPHPSupport, Epix Power Support, ruQueue, Ticket Express, OTRS, PMOS Help Desk and eTicket. From those, PMOS and eTicket are my top picks. I have problem installing OTRS the last time, so I am

Adding power devices support to Fusion Inventory
Dear Fusion Inventory fellows, I've been thinking about working on adding power devices knowledge to inventory systems for years. Following the last Ubuntu Developer Summit, I know have an "excuse" to do so: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/servercloud-p-cloud-power-management My below proposition is related to the above blueprint. So please keep in mind that the

Added new guide OCS Inventory NG to wiki
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, everyone. I added a new guide for installing and configuring the OCS Inventory NG server/client system on CentOS 5.x. Also, there's some brief explanations for integrating it into GLPI. I added it under non CentOS applications, since I think it fits in best there. Regards, Max - -- # find . A silly question about getting access to webapp installed with yum

I was trying to install Trac, Bugzilla etc using yum install method on a Centos 6.2 box. Somehow I am not able to see the respective pages say even using http:...

Setting up NTP server
Greetings, Please treat this post with kid gloves as I am bit rusty of the late on centos and last NTP server that I worked on was during centos 5.1 days. I am going to have to install centos 6.3 in coming week in all windows environment. This box will be the tunning glpi and ocs-inventory. I am planning to have two NICs: one facing the raw internet and other on a Private LAN. I want this box (as NTP Client) to get time through NTP from raw internet using ADSL. I want this box to be the primary NTP server for the private LAN. none of the packet should traverse...

Best practice OU and policy structure.
...ems when people get moved around as logically their Ldap referral "cn= ou = ou- .. " changes. So the 'list of users' under ..\users\ gets split and scattered, over a new OU structure. Several applications have problems with this, as i noted with some test users. Applications like GLPI /NeXT cloud/ Kopano/ password tools/ inhouse db's/ etc So I wonder what is the common used practice here ?. 1- Simply don't use multiple OU's, if its not that well supported. Just use a common single domain policy only (only use \users and \computers). 2- Use some kind of wildcard...

How to make big MySQL database more diffable/rsyncable? (aka rsyncing big files)
Hello group, I'm having a very hard time rsyncing efficiently a MySQL database which contains very large binary blobs. (Actually, it's the database of Mantis bug tracker [http://www.mantisbt.org/], with file attachments stored directly in the table rows. I know it's a bad idea from many other reasons, but let's say it was given to me as such.) First, I was dumping the
