I have a geffo 4 ti 4200 AGP 4x OpenGL 1.3 hardaware support, GL_ARB_fragment must be an extension of OpenGL 2, also Windows nvidia driver lack of this extension. Looking at the source code written by David Reveman the GL_ARB_fragment_program it's used when loading the bump mapping effects. blur plugin and GL_ARB_fragment_program extension
The blur plugin has GL_ARB_fragment_program extension as a prerequisite.
At least that's what I'm getting by looking at screen.c.
I think there should be a check for the "CompScreen::fragmentProgram"
flag somewhere in blur.c to prevent it from loading or at least
executing a <null> pointer.
I get a crash in line...

Graphical text error in game (MI5)
Hi, have recently bought MI5 (Tales of Monkey Island), and I am currently trying to run it under wine in Ubuntu 9.04 and I am running the latest development version 1.1.25. I am running this over the latest stable version due to less graphical errors when trying to run the game.
To get the game running I followed this guide posted on the telltale's ( the creators of the game) forum

compiz 0.3.6 in fedora rawhide
...without it the blue background (that the branding patch
sets) of the cube turns all black. One of these days I'll look into
it and try to come up with something upstreamable.
So we're in pretty good shape here, looking forward to trying out the
new blur plugin once we get marshalling for GL_ARB_fragment_program.

Software vs hardware in water plugin
Hi,
Is there difference in speed and size of water splashes in water plugin
between software and hardware implementation? If it is, is it supposed

Fragment interface on Intel
Hi
It seem that the fragment interface on certain plugins exceeds the
amount of fragment operations possible on Intel GMA cards. This only
occurs with the "water" and "blur" plugins. the plugins activate OK
and do not report a missing GL_ARB_fragment_program in the server
extensions. Waves appear when I use the water plugin with
<Super><Ctrl> but there is no apparant distortion underneath the wave.
offset_scale is set to 5 at the moment. Also, Blur activates fine but
when I put in "Normal" on "Alpha_blur" - Everything sl...

RGB and YV12 image formats are currently supported but it's of course
very easy to add support for additional formats.
YV12 format requires GL_ARB_fragment_program and 8 bpp alpha only GLX
pixmap support. The server doesn't provide alpha only pixmaps today. The
attached patch adds an alternative PICT_a8 visual to composite and that
is enough for xgl to support alpha only GLX pixmaps (not sure it will

What exactly is it supposed to do?
I want to test it but I don't know exactly what to test....
Enabling it did not make any difference (it loaded successfully).
