Apps slow down after several minutes
A problem I have with most applications I've tried is after several minutes, they will slow down to a crawl, becoming unusable. The program I'm mainly interested in is Painkiller (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/painkiller/index.html). It runs beautifully at first, and I can usually get through a level, but after that, it slows down or even stops. Is this an issue in Wine or could this be resolved by playing with the configuration or something? Does this happen to anyone else?

Samba shares accessible from Win98 but not WinNT
...he computer, but on other NT boxes it doesn't even find it. If the NT box can find it, opening it gets the "\\flaya is not accessible, the network path was not found" error message. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more information. Thanks. Jon Drukman Director Of Technology GameSpot

9 shares makes NT give RPC error
OK, this is bizarre. I have 8 shares on a samba machine. When I add a 9th, all the NT Workstation 4.0 clients can no longer get the share list from the machine - it just pops up a dialog saying "A Remote Procedure (RPC) error occured." If I take the 9th share out, it works again. Windows 98 doesn't have any problems with 9 shares. What's up with that?
