nt->samba backup suggestions
...luded/excluded. No software costs.
motivation... Full drive backups exceed 1 dds3 tape but some files do not need backup. NT backup makes include/exclude difficult. win2k backup difficult to script. Will move from NT to linux/samba eventually. Tape drive failures cause main server downtime.
gameplan... Build Linux-samba box with 3 dds3 drives and 4 100Mb nics. Add another nic to each nt/win2k server. Build 3 crossover ethernet cables. Configure nics with private ip addresses. Mount nt shares with smbfs or use smbclient. Linux script backsup/compresses specific nt files to a local tar fil...

align the runner
I saw from the thread "color output" that there is a plan to "align
the runner". Is there a place to see what that means? I am just

mediatrix 1104
Hi all,
I just got a Mediatrix 1104 evaluation unit -- a 4 port fxs sip gateway.

For many reasons we want to get off of this domain, and on to something
more modern, and

an answer to this simple question:
What makes you guilty about your Rails development?
Mine is a bad one: I don''t write tests. I understand that TDD makes
sense, but I just don''t do it. I''ve

Overly long email of miscellaneous Dovecot migration questions

wanted to make sure I didn't misinterpret things.
* Any problems running Courier POP3 and Dovecot IMAP for a while,
possibly Courier IMAP and Dovecot IMAP concurrently?: Since migrating
POP mailboxes is going to be a mighty task, our gameplan would
probably be to start migrating *just* IMAP services at first and
likely on just a few servers at a time. Being load balanced, there are
several scenarios where a user could theoretically access a mailbox on
different servers and therefore end up hitting dovecot at one point in
time and then l...
