Win98 stange behaviour in 2.2.6
I posted a rather lengthy message a few weeks ago. Andrew B and Jerry both responded with indications of furthers investigation required....i was wondering if anyone found anything strange because I've had to go back to 2.2.5 to support those clients and with a bit of fear of potential strange behaviour in my XP clients. Don't wish to be a pest, but you guys have done so much for our installation, I&...

Nortel SL1 protocol and *?
...1 needs to be set up to use the SL1 protocol. Does anyone have any more information on the SL1 protocol? I don't expect * to support it currently but I'm more interested in investigating what is required. I think that allowing * to play with these systems nicely will go a LONG way in furthering Asterisk's penetration into the small/mid business market. Aside: Since we moved to the new building (and * is handling all calls and faxes for us) our * system has handled over 11500 calls. That's over 5500 calls a month, incoming, outgoing and faxes. Not a bad start. :-) -A.

Summary: Upgrading to Asterisk 1.4
Friends, Thanks for all the feedback. If you have additional success stories or important issues, feel free to continue the discussion. I've learned a lot from your input. As a developer, I spend too much time in the bug tracker, working with particular bugs, so I often wonder how on earth anyone can use this buggy platform for anything business-like. It really feels good to get

pulling information from LDAP server using Ruby on Rails
Hello, I am currently working on a project using Ruby on Rails. So far, I have a well-populated mySQL database the RoR refers to and the basic scaffolding functions implemented. I also designed views/layouts that furthers the basic scaffolding interface. No problem and no big accomplishment by any means. Now, I want to pull user information from an already existing LDAP server and put that information on one of my pages, but I haven''t had any success. I searched for resources on the internet and have don...

install detecting disk as sdb not sda
I am trying to install 6.2 on a machine. I am using PXE as I have done so a number of times. My hard disk is being detected as sdb and not sda. My kickstart config is wanting it at sda. There are no other disks in the unit. It has and SD slot and an esata although BIOS does not appear to have a disable for either of those devices. Is there anyway to "force" the disk to sda ? or find

[gPXE] Chain Grub4Dos over HTTP?
...sk raw", you need an OS driver to find and provide the MEMDISK to the OS. WinVBlock is an example of this. Currently, WinVBlock _only_ supports HDDs, so there's little choice about it. That will change sooner or later. Why, just last night a patch for MEMDISK was submitted towards furthering OS driver support for MEMDISK. Taking Windows out of the picture altogether, MEMDISK works by hooking [at least] INTerrupt 13h. Any OS using this method for disk I/O will thus be intercepted by MEMDISK. "Proper OSs" such as Linux, *BSD, Windows, etc. do not use INT 13h, but use d...

Dirac question
Hi again, could someone tell me why there is links to Dirac on the Xiph wiki? The BBC takes care of Dirac, not Xiph? Is Xiph just a promoter? Secondly, how would one choose to save the video in a lossless format with Dirac, is there some interface (like a switch) in an application for this to be achieved? -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/

configuring services not to auto-run ("chkconfig off service")
Hello, I use puppet to configure CentOS 5 servers which have services controlled by linux-ha (heartbeat). This means that these services have to be configured by chkconfig (e.g. "chkconfig --add httpd") but NOT to execute automatically on boot (i.e. "chkconfig httpd off"). Currently, from looking at the source of puppet (version 0.22.4, installed from RPM from
