easier way to update packages i'm developing?
I'm frightfully new at developing r packages. I'm developing an econometrics
package, and each time I update my beta package, I close R, delete the
package dir in the library dir, rebuild the zip file, rerun R, reinstall the
package and run the functions. Is there a more efficient way?

a frightfully newbish question about dragdrop.js
Hi folks,
I''m in the process of updating a mostly-server-side web app to 21st century functionality, using the prototype.js etc packages.
I''m mostly a server-side PHP guy, so please pardon the level of ignorance about Javascript.
I''m having some strange problems, and right now, I''m trying to localize whether the problems are generic browser-things or whether

Call parking
Hi,
Been playing with Call parking, and I can`t help but wonder if I am doing
something incorrectly. The way I understand it (using default config in
features.conf), is I would transfer a call to extension 700, which would
park the call, tell me "701". I could then hang up, go fetch the fright
person and tell him "call 701 you have a call waiting for you".
The way I

nmbd crash on z/800 64 bit RHEL v 3.0
Hi All;
I'm currently trying to expand my Samba env by including my IBM z/800
mainframe running 64 bit RHEL v3.0, CUPS printing environment into Samba.
When I start Samba, the nmbd dies almost immediately. Any insight would
be greatly appreciated.

Intelligent maximum channels solution?
...me
room for the real expensive calls and switch chep (local) calls to the
PSTN so expensive international calls can still be routed through the IAX
provider.
I.e. allow 2 local calls and 1 call to a neighbouring country and still
leave 3 channels free for calls to Japan or China that would be
frightfully expensive from the PSTN.
This way I could squeeze the maximum benefit from the IAX / ADSL
connection.
Thanks!

Fraunhofer and Thomson Multimedia release their new mp3pro codec
and new licenseconditions for streaming mp3 :
http://www.techreview.com/web/kiang/kiang060701.asp
My comment is that the licensecharge isnt frighting compared
to what we broadcaster pays in musicroyalties allready. Is this
what you feared jack? :)

[thomas@arkena.com: [vorbis] mp3pro and the mp3 streaming license]
Thomas,
You should post this hear, as it's just as relevant ;)
Hey guys, how do you feel now that you all owe Thompson $2k per year?
Vorbis look more interesting now :)
It's really disgusting how the technology is now worth more than the
music.
jack.

[LLVMdev] new IA64 backend
Hi everyone,
I've just checked in an IA64 backend to LLVM! Be warned, it's pretty
rough right now. Here are some of the known defects:
- No varargs
- No alloca
- No instruction scheduling/bundling of any sort
...or in other words, it breaks often and when it does work, it's a
dog. On the plus side, it _does_ have a tasty new pattern instruction
selector. :) Beyond fixing the

Axes value format
Hi all,
I have some graphs where the values on the X and Y axes are by default
in exponent form like 2e+05 or 1.0e+07. Is it possible to make them in
a more readable form like 10M for 1.0e+07 or 200K for 2e+05?
Thanks and Regards,

Strange problem with... ZFS? Disk? Controller?
Hello,
I'm running FreeBSD 9.0/amd64, pure ZFS setup, one Seagate disk
ST2000NM0011 SN02 on LSI Logic (mpt) controller.
Yes, I know that running one disk on RAID controller is a bit weird, I
have to find yet if it is possible to connect disk to internal SATA
controller.
About two days ago, system became SLOW. Disk usage is constantly 100%,
and sometimes I'm getting swap_pager:

Estou utilizando o intant rails com ruby v.1.8.6 e rails 2.0.2 com um

exibir corretamente o texto no ruby tenho que usar UTF-8. Como posso

Type development for the rest of us
Since I had my type development epiphany a couple of days ago, I''ve decided
to write down my understanding of developing simple types, at
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/PracticalTypes.
I''d appreciate comments from people who already know how to develop types as
to correctness, and also comments from people who are new to type
development about whether it''s a
