I tried "ifelse", but I don't really need the else condition.

ffmpeg/ffmpeg2theora &vhooks
Hi theora-list,
I'm involved in in a project to redistribute C-SPAN's floor footage
from the US house and senate that we're capturing and converting*.
This footage is in the public doman, however there's a C-SPAN overlay
which is a registered trademark - we're having to overlay a "public
domain" graphic on top of it. We're currently doing this...

Ogg MIME types scheme
Hello everybody,
I hope to finish this MIME types discussion with these conclusions -
it's taken enough bandwidth on these lists :). So here's a generic MIME
types scheme that we all seem to be able to agree on and all that is
needed for the moment.

Quality of vp3.2 codec?
How good is the video compression in vp3.2?
For example, how does it compare (bit rate & quality) to mpeg1, mpeg2,
Divx, real Video 8+, Windows Media, etc. etc.
It being open source is nice and all, but if it can't be reasonably
competitive then there isn't much point to it.
I just haven't seen anything that compares vp32 to anything else.
(Although to be honest, I haven't

encoder_example input formats
Hi all
I have the raw out put of a video camera in following
format: mjpegb, yuvj422p, 1920x1080, 24.00 fps(r).
I cannot directly convert this raw footage to Theora
due to the YUV4MPEG2 only restriction of the
encoder_example.
Isn't it better to support other raw formats in
encoder_example, such as what I have, mjpegb,
yuvj422p?
I presume even if I convert the mjpegb, yuvj422p to
YUV4MPEG2, I cannot convert it losslessly.
Best Regards
Unga...

Elphel's JP4
...h Andrey and fellows from Elphel to improve support for
JP4 format in the context of Elphel's Apertus project
(http://www.apert.us). As posted by Basil, on
http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=JP4 there is plenty of
information about the format and how to post process it to get back
your real footage.
At this moment, you could use MPlayer and gstreamer tools to play JP4
encoded movies and convert JP4 movies and stills to DNG (Adobe's
Digital Negative raw format, which in lack of any standard raw format,
seems to be good enough to us at this moment).
I'm looking forward to see if it i...

source material for testing high res transcoding in theora... and 6 channel
audio in the highest res.
The system requirements are pretty high though !
Plus theres some pretty cool vids among them... quite a bit of old IMAX
footage.
Cheers,
Zen.

Best Way to Import HC-X800 1080 60p/50p MTS to iMovie HD
Panasonic HC-X800 is expert HD camcorder with 3MOS system Pro, shooting
1080 60p/50p AVCHD footage at bitrates of up to 28Mbit/sec and
exhibiting outstanding HD images with minimum noise. The HC-X800 records
AVCHD MTS videos on P2 card.
You may want to edit AVCHD MTS videos you shoot with iMovie. The problem
is that iMovie often cannot import and recognize the 60p/50p footages,
nor can it acce...

Higher quality video - supporting greater than 8 bit color depth
...at we have today.
I am not a video developer myself. I edit video. A type of problems I come
across fairly often, have to do with the limited color depth of the digital
video medium. They often manifest themselves as "cartoonish" areas of adjacent
flat colors observable in a low-noise footage of a smooth-colored subject such as
sky or a non-textured wall. And trouble is, ANY footage becomes subject to
color depth limitations whenever it is needed to adjust its gamma level or
affect its historgam in other ways.
While most digital video acquisition methods available today (save for...

be added in a county.
Independent variables include for example change in number of office
jobs in same county same year (and lagged years).
Smaller (less populous) counties have many years in which there were no
permits taken out; the largest counties had at least some permitted
square footage each year. Among the set of years and places where
permits were taken out, smaller counties tend to more permitted square
footage per capita. I imagine the relationships are as follows:
y* = desired change in floor space = X b + e , where X are independent
variables and b their coefficients, an...

These will be simple links you can send people so that they can encode
source footage to a local ogg video file with the latest and greatest
ogg encoders (presently thusnelda and vorbis). Updates to thusnelda and
possible other free codecs will be pushed out via firefogg updates ;)
Pass along any feedback if things break or what not.

tackle memory insufficiency for large dataset using save() & load()??
...Situation:___________________________________
My original dataset is a .csv dataset (w/ 2M records) with 4 variables:
job_id (Primary key, won't be used for analysis, just used for join tables),
sector_id (categorical variable, for 19 industry sectors),
sqft (con't variable for square footage),
building_type (categorical, for 2 building types)
some values of sqft were inputed wrong, so i'd like to set sqft<1 to "NA" and then use aregImpute() to impute those NAs.
Problem: the origianl dataset(.csv format) is too large. though i could read that dataset in...
