Question on fast-math optimizations
Dear LLVM developers,
I have a question on the fast-math floating-point optimizations applied
by LLVM:
Judging by the documentation at
https://llvm.org/docs/LangRef.html#fast-math-flags I understood that
rewriting with associativity and using reciprocal computations are
possible optimizations. As the folklore description of fast-math is that
it "applies real-valued identities", I

fundamental guide to use of numerical optimizers?
I was in a presentation of optimizations fitted with both MPlus and
SAS yesterday. In a batch of 1000 bootstrap samples, between 300 and
400 of the estimations did not converge. The authors spoke as if this
were the ordinary cost of doing business, and pointed to some
publications in which the nonconvergence rate was as high or higher.
I just don't believe that's right, and if some

ntlm_auth and SMBv2/v3
hai,
Please keep it mailing to the list, this way is shows up of others also.
A workaround for disabling SMBv1, you can make your server less secure but thats not what i would do.
Setting these to enable NTLM v1 again.
lanman auth = yes
ntlm auth = yes
raw NTLMv2 auth = yes
I think also this is more a question for the free raduis list, but i would to for a ldap(s) setup.

helping out on logcheck
Hi,
I'm quite a fan of logcheck and have been using it since setting up my
sites, and I recently saw madduck's call for help on logcheck at
debaday.[0] How can I help?

ntlm_auth and SMBv2/v3
Hello Andrew,
Do you plan to release the patch for "ntlm auth =
mschapv2-only" option soon ?
We need this on order to use freeradius in
a "more safe" scenario than with "ntlm auth = yes"
Best

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there.
While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems
I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder.
First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76
on Windows 98 SE.
1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended
in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played.
2. I check the option of

High Performance containers
Hi,
Let me present myself : I work on High Performance Computing, mainly on number crunching where the languages used are mainly Fortran and C++. This field is moving more and more from pure number crunching where Fortran shines to a mix of numbers, texts and other data that you cannot easily deal with Fortran. Unfortunately, the C++ standard library suffers from its age and the fact that it has

Standard genres for the "Genre" Field?
It might be a good idea to have a list of standard genres that are
suggested for use in the Genre field, just so that (polished) encoders
can give the user a list to pick from when encoding a song, instead of
making the user come up with one their own. This might seem like an
encoder issue at first, but if two different encoders use two different
names for a specific genre it's going to

CUSUM SQUARED structural breaks approach?
Dear all,
Does anyone know where there is R or S code for the CUSUM SQUARED
structural breaks approach? (Brown, Durban and Evans, 1975 - used in
Pesaran and Timmerman, 2002)
The problem is that the breaks package only appears to offer the
standard 'unsquared' CUSUM, even though it appears most think it is
inferior to the squared version. It might appear to be a relatively

writer/researcher needs your help
Dear Colleague,
I am writing to ask your help for a book I am writing about Life Practices.
I am looking for examples of those simple things that we all do that are
essential to expressing and maintaining our values as we face life's ups and
downs - our Life Practices.
What I am seeking is a bit like folklore. Something with a story and an easy

Bayesian regression stepwise function?
Hi everyone,
I am wondering if there exists a stepwise regression function for the
Bayesian regression model. I tried googling, but I couldn't find anything.
I know "step" function exists for regular stepwise regression, but nothing
for Bayes.
Thanks
