Was there ever a time that the behavior was "SERIAL port [[baudrate]
flowcontrol]" or has it been misdocumented for years?

Request to Document obscure SERIAL flowcontrol setting
Hi:
I took me a while to figure this out, so I thought it might be good to document
on the wiki.
When using Syslinux's SERIAL option (
https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=SYSLINUX#SERIAL_port_.5Bbaudrate_.5Bflowcontrol.5D.5D
) in conjunction with Serial over LAN (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_over_LAN), there is no "CTS assertion" (at
least with some BIOS), but DTR and RTS are still needed.
I would like to request that the following line be added to the "Typical values"
section of

Adding an MT9234ZBA-USB modem to CentOS6.3
How, exactly, does CentOS-6.3 with udev recognize an USB modem when it
is plugged in. How is it indicated? What other configuration is
required?
I can find the modem in /sys/class/tty and I can get the attributes
using udevadm but I do not see anything in ps that refers to the modem
device.

SERIAL port [[baudrate] flowcontrol]
Enables a serial port to act as the console. "port" is a
number (0 = /dev/ttyS0 = COM1, etc.) or an I/O port address
(e.g. 0x3F8); if "baudrate" is omitted, the baud rate defaults
to 9600 bps. The serial parameters are hardcoded to be 8
bits, no parity, 1 stop bit....

And in some situations, having power is even more critical: hospitals,

This looks like a flowcontrol mismatch issue to me. Can you please help

I then tried another suggestion I found in a forum discussion `ethtool

Seems to have had no effect on the problem.

Serial Passthrough broken in Debian Wheezy?
Hello,
I just discovered a strange bug with serial passthrough in xen 4.1 on
Debian Wheezy. The Dom0 has a GSM modem connected to serial port. The
serial port is passed through to a DomU with options 'irq = [ 4 ]' and
'ioports = [ '3f8-3ff ]'.
This worked as expected on Debian Squeeze with Xen 4.0 and Linux kernel
2.6.32 (both for Dom0 and DomU). On Debian Wheezy with Xen

Modems: Cable or DSL digital blunders that lartc may help with.
I have a Cable ''modem'' that has a problem that many of these devices is
bound to have. I was wondering what other lartc user thought about this
and if DSL has simular problems.
Cable, being Asymetrical, is able to upload at a given rate and hopefully
has a buffer, in the modem, of some kind. When I nc(netcat) to a UDP
echo, or discard, server I get about 10Mbps out on my

[GIT PULL] elflink ldlinux
Hi,
These patches contain support for some features that are already in
Syslinux 4 but weren't working properly on the elflink branch. It's
another step closer to feature parity with Syslinux 4.
Having to jump through the comboot API for localboot support is less
than ideal and I'll eventually fix that, probably when we move a big
chunk of code from asm to C.
Also, there's a
