911 and lawsuits
Just curious if any of the Asterisk installers are doing anything special
to protect themselves from a possible lawsuit caused by 911 failure
during a Asterisk/computer crash?
I realize that any traditional PBX or even a phone line can fail but,
anything running on a computer is probably going to be less reliable
than most PBXs.

Can audio streams go client to cleint with IAX?
With a service like http://www.freshtel.net/?show=home that uses IAX and has servers in Australia,
is it possible for the audio streams to take a different path than the call setup and control?
In other words can it work like SIP with canreinvite where the two endpoint negotiate audio
streams between themselves rather than though the FreshTel server?
Thanks

SpamAssassin vs. SELinux
Hi,
I just installed SpamAssassin on two servers running CentOS 7 and
Postfix. One is my sandbox server for experimenting, the other one is
the server that hosts my company's web site, blog, mail, etc.
So far, SpamAssassin seems to work as expected. I sent a test mail,
which was duly flagges as [SPAM], and I already see the odd incoming
spam message correctly flagged as [SPAM].
For testing purposes, I switched SELinux to permissive mode (usually I
activate SELinux for everything).
It looks like it's causing a bit of a problem here.

exporting adaBoost model
Dear all,
I'm using adaBoost from the ada package to build a classification
model. After training the model in R I'd like to use it in a
Python application. Is it possible to export the model in some
way to make translating into python easier?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dear All,
I'm reading Frank Harrell's wonderful Regression
Modeling Strategies book and ran into a problem
following the example in Chapter 8. I'm working
on
platform: Ubuntu 8.04 (i486-pc-linux-gnu)
R version: 2.7.2 (2008-08-25)
and my command sequence was:
library(chron)
library(Hmisc)
load("prostate.sav")
describe(prostate)
The last command returned the error

can X100P detect phone pick up like an answering machine
If Asterisk is configured as a simple answering machine replacement
with the X100P connected to PSTN line. No FXS ports in the
Asterisk machine. Standard phones are connect in parallel with
the X100P like you would a regular answering machine.
Can Asterisk detect that a phone has been picked up and cancel
the outgoing message and/or voice recording? What about if the
phones are connected to

roaming and local profiles on same domain
I have samba 3 configured and running fine as a PDC with LDAP as the
back end user database. I have most users using roaming profiles but
there are a few I would like to be able to only have local profiles.
Is it possible to configure samba to use both types of profile rather
than one or the other. I have the profile path set on each user
account in LDAP as the field

Channelbank Recomendation and GS102 question
Hi All.
I'm working on an * configuration. We require 8 inbound POTS lines, and
CT1 or PRI seems like it will be
quite expensive at that level. I've read that a T1 Channelbank plus
the T100P would be a (the?) way to go
for this situation. What is the recommended channelbank for use in this
scenario? From searching the archives
I see a lot of suggestions to get "a

CVS Changes (NAT-SIP)
I had been running an older patched CVS to get VOIP working with NAT and
everything had been running fine. I just built * on a new box with
CVS-01/18/04-12:19:25. And now I can get remote SIP users to register.
Has anything major changed...
