Wine distro with MS WOS look and feel
i think that if a distribution with MS WOS XP and 7 look and feel based on Gnome and Ubuntu or debian is released a lot of people would migrate. People is comdortable with what they know, even Gnome is easy to use, they like Control panel, Documents and Settings and Start vuttons from MS WOS. If program Icons should be in desktops, an start button with a control panel, My documents and so one,

Feeling a little guilty...
This is the first time I have tried Centros and I must say that I am a very happy camper. But maybe my needs/goals are simple: I need HTTP and FTP servers that support Apache, PHP and Interbase (yes, that "funny" DB that runs and runs). RH 9 was like that and so was FC 3, BUT FC 4 was something else...could not even get it to install (like others). And this forum has been VERY

Thoughts on job listings?
How do folks feel about getting Puppet job listings on this list? I''ve rejected a few that we quite spammy, but when the subject matter really is a system admin with puppet experience, the decision becomes a bit different. I''m looking for general feelings. A simple +1 or -1 would be great. Mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. CentOS 5 Beta Feels Snappier
Hi, Is it me or is CentOS 5 faster than FC6? I just switched and it seems that CentOS 5 loads faster and overall feels snappier. Could Red Hat have optimzed EL more than Fedora?. Just curious. I really like what I see with CentOS 5. The devs have done a great job making a profesisonal looking distro. An of course kudos to Red Hat for all the engineering and for making the SRPMS available. RFC: Introducing an LLVM Community Code of Conduct
...ority, the NAS UK estimates 1 every 100 people in England has some form of autism, but that's the whole point of a CoC, is to not forget about the people with some form of fragility. By the replies I've seen so far, there were others that feel the same way, and I wonder if they're also feeling a little uncomfortable with the wording. Disclaimer: This is not personal nor an accusation, I know you wouldn't do anything to upset anyone. I'm just trying to solve a problem that I can see people have, but can't express without looking rude. I'm *really* sorry, but we just sound...

RFC: Introducing an LLVM Community Code of Conduct

I feel what you have written here to be offensive to the highest degree, and your words make me feel unsafe when contemplating their effect on my prospects for future interaction with this community.

Hi Samba team, I feel user will feel more confortable when they can mount folder (via mount.cifs or mount.smbfs) under particular shared folder. VoIP Provider problems
Hello all, We recently configure an asterisk server to use with an VoIP provider to make calls to a PSTN. We use (voipjet, nufone, diamond....) We feel that we haven't got the quality that we hope. Sometimes our calls gets mute, or we feel communication cuts on our phone calls. We have got an QOS router (Draytek) reserving 1/2 of our wideband to the SIP an IAX2 protocols, and an ADSL line

pretty eerie feeling: Google "down", Twitter "down", R sites up
...(paper) websites (20min, TA, NZZ) are out of reach, but "of course" the ETH web sites are fine for me (but I'm inside ETH) and notably, www.r-project.org , bugs.r-project.org, cran.r-project.org developer.r-project.org svn.r-project.org are all fine and up... an eerie feeling indeed. Martin

New Improved Chime
This marks the first community contribution to the Chime visualization tool for DTrace. A huge thanks to Bill Rushmore for creating a new main window for Chime. Previously a simple stack of buttons, Chime now uses the Netbeans Matisse layout to present a scrollable list and a description pane. When you create a new display, you can now provide helpful descriptive text. Bill also pointed out

Debian Sarge or CentOS4.3
Looks like I am going to be doing my first serious commercial install of FreePBX. I DO mean serious. They are willing to put up with a few glitches initially which is why I have decided they will be a good first client. I have turned down several over the past couple years because I just did not feel comfortable with the state of software/hardware. It seems to work much better now. I was

[LLVMdev] install-bytecode no longer works
No, I don't feel strongly about it... it's just annoying to have things change on me that break habits :) On the other hand, I do feel strongly about the tests in llvm-test that are now failing on me because they explicitly include alloca.h, a file that does not exist on FreeBSD. I can supply a patch to take out the include, of course, but the problem then becomes that the tests will
