Hello, I tried searching this site, but couldn't find anything that I understood as far as a solution. Quite often, when I try to install a program using Wine, I get an error that the version of IE is too old, and the install can't continue. How can I correct that? Thank you

I have been installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 without using winetricks fakie6. For weeks, until today, that has worked. Today nothing works, including winetricks fakeie6. What is one supposed to do with such applications ? I understand from reading the FAQ that actuallty installing IE under Wine is frowned up. So I use Wine Gecko instead. I've seen from Wine Bugzilla that the installation may go better if I install Windows Script first. I've used winetricks to install wsh56. There are several other choices. I've no idea how to choose between them.

It installed ok (with an error message box at the end but still runs) but it seems to need internet explorer to run properly - the main window remains blank when trying to view html but works fine when it is in editing mode.
