RE: A question on vmx loader in xen - how and when rombiosis loaded into memory
Thank you. I notice the system then jumps to F000:FFF0 to execute. But because VMX is turned on, switching to real-mode would incur problems? I don’t find any clue to turn on the vm86 mode as Readme in the tools/firmware directory puts. Best regards, Hu Jia Yi Ext: 20430 Tel: 65-67510430 -----Original Message----- From: Cui, Dexuan...

Developing
Well, there are some issues about adding code to syslinux. Mainly there are no space to add code. I propose to move data to 0000:F000 (now in 0000:5000) and font data to 0000:5000 (now at 0000:E000). So we have additional 4K to code. I don't understand however why we have to retain font data... Does EGA card read from system memory all the time?? I don't think so... Perhaps it's better to read font data at another loc...

"Unstable" vs "Development" vs "Nightly"
I'm currently running v2.1rc1, but have been seeing errors like: Dec 8 11:31:55 it kernel: auth[18914]: segfault at 48 ip 00fe2f74 sp bfcaccd0 error 4 in libauthdb_imap.so[fdd000+f000] The unstable and nightly builds are newer, but are they likely to be more or less stable than the version I'm currently running? I'd like to install a newer version, but am trying to get a feel for how usable they're likely to be. Thanks, Terry
