multivariate ordered probit regression---use standard bivariate normal distribution?
...n a run a multivariate (more than one non-independent,
response variables) ordered probit regression model? I've had success
doing this in the univariate case using the vglm() function in the
VGAM package. For example:
unvar.prob<-vglm(y~x,cumulative(link="probit",parallel=FALSE,r everse=TRUE))
This would fit a unrestricted cumulative probit model (or a
"thresholds of change" model) with the ordered response variable
treated as a latent trait modeled with a standard normal distribution.
What I'd like to do is include an additional, ordinal response
variable, so that...

confusion over RSAref vul w/OpenSS[HL]
Howdy,
The string of notices on BugTraq about RSAref being vulnerable to
overflows has me concerned. After trying to sort through all the
messages, I can't figure out whether I need to update OpenSSL (a
check of their website indicates no new patches), OpenSSH, both, or

Trying to Get EMBIRD32 Working Under Wine
Okay, I've learned this much so far:
Others have made this happen, but details are weak or missing
Installer method won't work. It wants to register some stuff during setup, and there is no Registxry under Linux.
Some have copied the installed version from Windows to Linux or Ubuntu. Now that works.
Details are again skinpy or left out, and that leaves me stuck for the moment.
