so many arp caches why?
Hello, all. When I execute arp -a -n, there are lots of arp caches like below. Surely, I set netmask and Broadcast without problem and routing table also no problem. System is CentOS release 4.7 i386. I know how to delete the arp cache, but I don't know why .. # ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:D1:E7:91:CC inet addr:192.168.195.36

Ether setup
Hello everyone. This is my first time attempting to use Xen and I am having some problems. I am trying to build a Xen system so that I can use the Ether program for malware analysis (http://ether.gtisc.gatech.edu/source.html). I''ve installed Debian 6, and downloaded the Xen 3.1.0 source. However when I try to compile the source using "make world" I receive the following errors:

[LLVMdev] dragonegg build failure
Hi ether, how did you build it exactly? I logged into gcc16 and tried to reproduce. But I get /home/ether/local/gcc-4.5/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.5.3/plugin/include/real.h:28:17: error: mpc.h: No such file or directory In file included from /home/ether/local/gcc-4.5/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.5.3/plugin/include/rtl.h:28, from

Capturing Packets -- Ethereal
This may be off topic, but I think my ethereal question might be simple enough. I am presently compiling ethereal on a CentOS platform to check it out. But the packets I want to monitor are actually on a different CentOS platform, and I'd rather not install Ethereal on it, if for no other reason I don't have X-Windows installed on that platform. My question is, can I monitor/write

PXELinux can't load the config file?
Hi, I am working on a cluster of PCs, and I want to boot them from an SGI IRIX machine. The PCs use Supermicro XEON MB, with dual GigE built in. They have Intel Boot Agent GE v 1.1.09 and PXE 2.1 (083). I have DHCP and TFTP on the IRIX machine, pxelinux.0 loads, but it can't load the configuration file? tftp on the host tries to send the file, but data transfers do not receive ACKs. I got

network-bridge called three times
Hello All, I'm trying to figure out why xen-utils-common 3.2 doesn't suport bridging on multiple interfaces. I've been digging around /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridges. And modified it so that during boot, when executed the script writes into /tmp/netbr file, but I commented out code that actually creates bridges. I discovered that this script is called three times during boot, I

broadcast packets from domU duplicated?
I''m running a nevada b99 guest on a nevada b99 host. The guest is configured as a dhcp client. When I snoop in dom0 while the guest boots, I see two back-to-back DHCPREQUEST packets issued by the guest. The first of the two packets has an empty UDP checksum; otherwise they seem identical. Getting Ethereal to work?
I'd like to get Ethereal to run on CentOS 3x. Now, yum says everything is in place for ethereal, but I can't find any executable and am feeling real dumb. I've checked numerous forums (and the Red Hat site), but I can't find anything specific. I've used locate and find, but while there is a lot of ethereal material spread around on my CentOS 3 server, I'm missing the big

Ethereal plugin for IAX2
As mentioned on the devel list earlier today, I'm interested in writing an IAX2 plugin for Ethereal to make debugging IAX protocol implementation and simultaneous calls on normal networks easier. Anyway, I started work on it this evening, so it's not complete yet, but it's starting to look quite sensible: - http://raq626.uk2net.com/~al/ethereal.png A couple of people have

running dhcp-server on dom0 over a vnic.
Before I post to networking-discuss I wanted to ask if anyone had tried this on this: I''m trying to run a dhcp-server on a dom0 over a vnic so that the domU''s can get IP addresses. I created a vnic r1 over e1000g0 and gave it a static IP 172.0.94.111/24 so I can run the dhcp server over this vnic. root@lm2-dom0:~# dhtadm -P Name Type Value
