I keep hearing that Ian Schmidt figured out how to get Word 2000 to work under Wine. Well, his domain comes up unknown and all references I have seen on this subject hyperlink to his defunct URL. Has anyone out there got Word 2000 installed on W2K to work under wine? I'm using FreeBSD Codeweaver port but any success from anyone be it Red Hat, Mandrake, etc would be appreciated.

I am trying to find a good how-to on setting up samba to use Windows 2003 for authentication, if anyone knows of a good link let me know. I am using RedHat ES 3 and our Windows is running in native mode with NT style authentication allowed. I cant use ADS and Kerberos because the current version of Kerberos on my RH server is 1.2.7 and from what I have read I need 1.3+ in order for it to work

Hello all, Can anyone help me with setting up SAMBA to do LDAP auth? Do you have to extend the schema with samba attributes or can you just use the LDAP as an authentication source only? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Vince

Not for all users but for some. I'm using samba 3.0.20 running on Fedora Core 3. Security = ADS, winbind works and getent passwd returns local unix accounts plus the domain accounts as expected. It also returns a lot of entries like: 6811ff15281f4d19bdc:x:18004:10000:Anel Susana Esquivel:/export/private/6811ff15281f4d19bdc:"/sbin/nologin" I suspect these are accounts in a trusted domain. ...W2K. In the past, I had tried to use office2000 but was unsuccessful. I was told that I should have a win98 partitiion with office2000 installed on that in order to have wine run it effectively.
