Tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (2nd try)
Hi all together, all answers to my first posting didn't help to solve my problem. Maybe this can help you. When I'm doing: smbclient -L MYLINUX -U MYUSER I get the following message: Added interface ip=195.90.254.xxx broadcast=295.90.254.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Password: <enter password for myuser> Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.5a] Tree connect failed: ERRSRV -

Samba3+LDAP configuration... PLEASEEE
I've spended days trying to get a Samba3 PDC configuration. It almost works now, but I have experimented a lot of problems and now my configuration is still FAR from perfect. I have no more time left so I'm looking for somebody to share his/her configuration files with me. That is what I'm setting: Samba 3.0.0 PDC with LDAP backend. The same LDAP users and groups as valid

One NIC, filtering access
Hello all, What I am doing seems fairly straight forward to me, I just am not sure how to put it into Shorewall''s config files. Here is what I have: I have a single router that takes 5 public IP addresses and routes them to internal IP addresses. In the past, I had control over that router and could port filter at the router, forwarding only the traffic I wanted. However, now, I

I cannot reproduce this locally (and have no clues about docker). Perhaps you can try to debug this on your end? And see what env_list is when the error occurs? Asterisk on Cygwin?
Hey all, quick question: does asterisk work okay in a Cygwin environment? I want to install it on my cygwin setup for local testing/demoing and save me the hassle of using a pure linux machine........ As long as it doesn't take a huge huge performance hit from running out of Cygwin, then I'll have a go there for a start confirmation appreciated! thanks -- C h r i s E a r

32bit OS on 64bit architectures
ok - i do understand the point. and i do guess the hint was also included in ady's answer. why running a 32-bit kernel? well because of efficency. i am running ldap, bdb, mysql db, webservers, e-mail server with imap service on a 512mB RAM kernel without swapping of over 10 years. so - why should i step up to a 4gB environment? it's all about point of view and capabilities. i am also

vorbis hardware
Hi, I keep seeing various things about vorbis being implemented in hardware, and throught people might like to know about this. I was going through the spec for my MP3 player (Jazpiper - http://www.jazpiper.com) and noticed a feature I didn't know about. Apprently there are two hidden files in memory, the contain DSP code to encode and decode the audio files. Currently it can only decode MP3

W2k logged out workstations keep 'alive' at smbstatus (3.0.23a)
...and before: -Slackware 10.0, Samba 3.0.10, Openldap 2.2.x, smbldap-tools 0.8x After adjustments in the LDAP configuration and smb.conf, my Samba is running. Workstations are ( almost completely ) W2K. I have already included, deleted and changed new users. I had to solve a problem ( envolving Squid ) because smbldap-useradd doesn't include uid as memberUid in Domains Users and so. Because this features are working, I think my setup is correct ( or almost ). Before upgrading, I was using a solution to deny simultaneous logins, using a solution that is very similar to the soluti...

samba-3.0.0 and Active Directory
Hi everybody, Shortly, I want my Active Directory users to be able to use Linux samba file server. The network is: Win XP and w2k clients, an AD server (w2k) and Linux samba file server (RedHat 7.1). The services on Linux box (imap, ftp, ssh) are configured to use pam_ldap and nss_ldap, so 'getent passwd' works fine and gets accounts from both /etc/passwd (root and a couple of accounts)

Embedded "From<space>" Lines
Hi. As some of you may remember, I reported a problem a while back where dovecot 1.1.beta14 (as well as dovecot 1.0) would corrupt mbox-style mailboxes by ignoring the Content-Length header and breaking up messages with embededed "From<space>" lines. I recently downloaded Dovecot 1.1.5 and noted to my pleasure that this bug now has been fixed. That's great! This fix

Dovecot - AllowGroups option
Hi, I'm trying to control access to different services on an Debian server using /etc/group. So that a user I create for FTP usage doesn't fill up my server with IMAP folders or samba garbage. Services like proftpd have: "AllowGroup ftpgroup" sshd have "AllowGroups sshgroup" And samba have "valid users = @smbgroup" But I can't find the correct

More than 50% performance decrease.
I just installed Xubuntu 8.04, Wine 0.9.60 and Warcraft 3. Ive set it so it uses OpenGL and in game i get less than 30fps with everything on low and a low resolution. On Windows i can run it on medium with 1280x800 at 60fps. Im new to Xubuntu/linux so i dont know what could be causing it. Is this expected from Wine? Specs are 1GB RAM, Intel C2D 1.66GHZ, Intel 945GM onboard graphics.

SuSE 9.1 Pro
Is anyone aware of any specific problems with SuSE 9.1 Pro in regards to running Samba as a domain controller? I have been trying for a couple of weeks to get it setup but keep running into one roadblock or another. Half of the time I can't see the DC at all unless I disable the SuSE Firewall altogether, other times I am able to see the DC just not connect if I have ports 137, 138, 139
