New logo for CentOS
To celebrate CentOS as the greatest thing since sliced bread, we
should endevour to have a new logo in place. Whilst the current one
suffices, a new logo/favicon should be in place.
My artistry skills are not good (i was eating hotdogs whilst the rest
of the class learned fine art), so those of you artistically endowed
should come up with something.

astcc with multiple access
I'm looking at astcc and it seems that setting up a script that will
allow multiple people to access a calling card simultaneously would be
fairly difficult. Before I endevour to develop this, has anyone already
done it/looked at this/can point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

samba3 to samba3 domain membership failing
Hi,
I'm attempting to make a Samba 3.0.10 fileserver become a domain member of a
Samba 3.0.7 server which is running as a PDC.
I'm using the instructions gained from here...
http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/domain-member.html#id2538809
...but when running the command...
net rpc join -S PDCNAME -UAdministrator%password
I get the error...

Hi,
I''m subscribed to this mailing list for a long time. During that time, I
enjoyed reading all posts and try to understand them :)
LARTC started as a something I could use to impress my boss. After a while it
became clear to me that my boss was not impressed ;(, but I kept following
this list because it was fun. I also placed a lot documentation online on

Samba 3.0.1 ADS/Kerberos problems relating to Win2k/xp browsing to samba server
...in that's worth going some
lengths to avoid).
Now, here's all the background info for those who are
interested:
I set up a Samba 3.0.0 Server, enabled ADS integration with
our local domain (I found the FAQ was unclear on a few key points,
though ultimately correct -- fates willing, I will endevour
to submit proposals for improving the FAQs :)
I was able to go to the Samba server from Win2k/XP clients,
no problem, fully authenticated by the ADS infrastructure.
Then I realized that the "winbind trusted domains only"
function didn't actually seem to be working -- my understandin...

big file server
Hi
I plan to set up a big file server, something like motherboard with 4 ide
ports and an additional 4 ide daughter card, a PIV proc and 512 or 1024 MB
ram, a 100 or 1000 MB NIC, with 6 or 7 200 GB ide HDDs in a sigle box. I
don't need lightning performance, just disk space. Of course this would be
served by some linux os and samba
questions (relative to samba configuration and behaviour) :

RFE for two-level ZFS
Should I file an RFE for this addition to ZFS? The concept would be
to run ZFS on a file server, exporting storage to an application
server where ZFS also runs on top of that storage. All storage
management would take place on the file server, where the physical
disks reside. The application server would still perform end-to-end
error checking but would notify the file server when it detected

Organization wide
After our department went to using *, I've had several inquiries about
doing VoIP for my entire organization (Small county). We have ~10
locations with various links in between (Mostly p2p T1s, some Frame
(1.544mbps commit), some ISDN, some VPN over 768kbit internet) Right now
we're using several NEC Electra Elite systems, and 2 Nortel Meridian
systems. In one of the main locations we have
