Codeowner for MIPS
Dear community, I will be leaving MIPS on the 20th to pursue other LLVM based endeavours. As such, I am stepping down as code owner. My apologies for the timing with regard to the current release, I had hoped that the process would have be complete by then. I would like to nominate Simon Atanaysan as the new code owner for the MIPS backend. Thanks, Simon -------------- next part -...

An idea is to build it in a directory, as much independent as it is possible from the installed libraries on the centos installation. Is there an automated build system for such an endeavour? - Gergely

IMP: Release 4.0: CentOS 6 packages will not be made available
...on CentOS 7 would > be better than on CentOS 6 > > If you have questions, send to Amye Scavarda <amye at redhat.com> > Hi Amye, How does this mesh with the fact that CentOS 6 is supposed to receive maintenance updates until November 2020? Particularly as this project is a Red Hat endeavour. Will we only get updates on RHEL6 or is that going to be discontinued around December 2018 as well? Cheers

IMP: Release 4.0: CentOS 6 packages will not be made available
Gluster Users, This is to inform you that from the 4.0 release onward, packages for CentOS 6 will not be built by the gluster community. This also means that the CentOS SIG will not receive updates for 4.0 gluster packages. Gluster release 3.12 and its predecessors will receive CentOS 6 updates till Release 4.3 of gluster (which is slated around Dec, 2018). The decision is due to the following,

...s, or from being used for genetic research. Rationale: The major intention of this clause is to prohibit license traps that prevent open source from being used commercially. We want commercial users to join our community, not feel excluded from it. ---------------- I believe that 'field of endeavour' means quite a broad spectrum of activity, such as 'business' or 'genetic research'. It's certainly *not* our intent to discriminate in this way, and I don't think the very specific usage requirements in the licence file could be taken to mean that we're discriminat...

inconsistent directory locations for dns.keytab
Hello, FYI note here... I?ve done several AD-DC installs recently using Louis?s packages on Ubuntu Bionic. I?ve seen this with 4.10.5 - 4.10.8 packages I noticed that the initial install puts dns.keytab in /var/lib/samba/private/ Then this command: samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ will place a new dns.keytab file in /var/lib/samba/bind-dns The documentation on the samba wiki, and the

proposed new doco for "Gluster 3.1: Installing GlusterFS on OpenSolaris"
Hi all Reference: http://support.zresearch.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1:_Installing_GlusterFS_on_OpenSolaris I have found this guide to be too brief/terse, and have endeavoured to improve it via more of a recipie/howto approach - and possibly misunderstood the intent of the brief directions in the process. Please advise if there are any errors? Once the procedure is corrected/confirmed by the experts, I propose it replace the current one - so more people can combine...

problems compiling packages | 3.3.0 | Linux
Updated my R install on my GNU/Linux boxes (running CentOS 6.8) from 3.2.x -> 3.3.0, using latest from epel (i.e., not compiling from source), and while said upgrade seemed to go fine, am now (post-upgrade) having all sorts of problems with getting some (but not all) packages to compile (either during an initial install attempt, or upgrade to existing packages). For example, if I try to

LLVM static libs
Hi, the first question is addressed both to llvm-dev and gentoo-dev. The second one is Gentoo specific. Is there any possibility to build LLVM both as static and shared libraries? What I see currently is that our ebuild makes LLVM to build shared libs unconditionally. Is there a possibility (if it is impossible to build both lib types) to at least give to user control on what kind of libs he

R-code embedded in VBE -- Type mismatch errors
Hello, I am trying to embed R-code inside VB for Excel (probably a perverse endeavour anyway) and I am running into difficulties, especially when passing vectors back and forth between the two environments. (1) I am using the RExcel package. (2) An example of error that I often get and that I can't seem to be able to work myself around of is the following VB message: ------...

I expect that for a while there will be a *lot* of stupid typos/thinkos that cause all sorts of breakage, so please test everything any anything you can and report *regressions* from the pre-rework code (vs 3.6-rc1 for example). I'll endeavour to hunt down and fix the regressions as quickly as possible, so please report any issues to this list and/or the freedesktop bugzilla. There's two areas that didn't get "properly" ported over, that is PM-related things and modesetting. I'll be handling the modesetting and cl...
