vectors levels are carried through to subsets...
I have a dataset. Initially, it has 25 levels for a certain factor,
Description.
However, I then subset it, because I am only interested in 2 of the 25
factors. When I subset it, I get the following. The vector lists only the
two factors, yet there remain 25 levels:

projecting GIS coordinates for analysis with spatstat package
I am working on creating an R package for doing fire department analysis and
am trying to create a function that can display emergency incident
densities. The following code sort of does the trick, but I need a display
that shows the number of incidents per square mile. I believe the code
below shows incidents per square unit (in this case, degrees lat/long).
To solve this problem, I believe that I need to convert the coordinat...

What is i2 ? 911 Candian Style
NENA i2
The NENA i2 architecture was designed to support the interconnection
of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) domains with the existing
Emergency Services Network infrastructure. This overview will
describe the functional elements and call flow of a VoIP 9-1-1 call
over the i2 architecture.
The NENA i2 architecture was also designed to utilize existing 9-1-1
voice and data links to all existing Public Safety Answering Points

Time based calls charging and "reserved" numbers up to 999!
...o's
based on time the call is placed! It is called PEAK (08.00- 18.00
Mon-Fri), OFF PEAK(18.00-08.00 Mon-Fri) and WEEKEND (all other times!
Could someone from any of other countries let me know if time based
charging exists in your country?
Also, what numbers (up to 999) are commonly used for emergency, police
or other type of public services in your country?

Testing UK emergency dialing and LCR.
Hiyall.
Just wondering how people test your emergency dialing in the UK.
Obviously you need to dial the 999 for emergency services, but am a bit
unsure if this would go down too well with the operator with a 'sorry
just testing' call. (you do all /test/ your emergency dialing dont
you!?:-) )
As another thing, what is the correct method w...

Re: 911 and lawsuits and redundancy
Hi,
Most companies we work with, have 'designated' crisis management teams.
These vary from the insignificant crisis', through to life-threatening
crisis'. There is always an assigned emergency services contact, whose
job it is in an emergency, to maintain communication with the emergency
services.
One of our corporate functions is crisis management - so we have to
consider the global repercussions and the ultra-fine detail at the same
time. From considering overall redundancy of the...

Problem getting TDM400P clone card to go off-hook and dial
I am having problems getting a Nicherons TDM400P wildcard clone to dial out.
Everything appears to be configured correctly, but although I see call
progress, it never seems to actually pick up the phone.
(The following is a test of 911 emergency, where I substitute 811 [repair
service] as the actual number dialed.)

"nineoneone,s,1") in new stack
-- Goto (nineoneone,s,1)

Emergency calls - forcing through on channel
Hi
Hypothetical but quite possible scenerio:
Attempted emergency 911 call but all zap channels are already in use.
Is there any way to hangup zap channels before dial(Zap/g1/911) or equivalent.
AFAIK hangup doesn't except options so I CANNOT do something like hangup(Zap/g1) to clear zap
channels before the dial statement - this is what i was hoping to do...

E911 Testing !
I believe the 911 is a serious issue if one does an asterisk installation in
an office. How do you test 911? Won't they arrest you or something for
dialing 911 for no reason and talking to one of their agents who could have
taken a more important call?
On the other hand what an emergency comes up (like someone got seriously
injured) and on top of that asterisk crashed all of a sudden bringing the
whole office PBX down. Since it would be not be possible to place a call and
emergency matter becomes more serious, who would be held responsible? The
person who installed the PBX for not...

[LLVMdev] register scavenger
I ran into another issue with register scavenger.
In my case, I don't need a place on the stack for an emergency spill slot.
I have these free mips32 registers, that are not in general very useful
for other things, for the emergency spill slot. I can move to and from
mips16 (subset of mips32) registers and mips32 registers.
I also have a situation where I need two free registers so then the
possibility th...

Server entering Emergency Shell, but continues fine after pressing Enter
...efore it would complete the boot process. No other step was required.
I also tried creating a snapshot of the disk, and booted a new VM with a boot disk imaged from the snapshot. The same problem occurred, pressing Enter was all that was required.
Earlier in the boot log, it shows "Started Emergency Shell", which is why there was a "Press Enter" prompt. The error that the "root account is locked" isn't the issue; the root account is locked on all our servers.
So, in summary: something is causing the server to enter an Emergency Shell, but continues successfully af...

Server entering Emergency Shell, but continues fine after pressing Enter

In that case, I'd revert the change you made, unlock the root account so
that you can use the emergency shell, let the system boot to an
emergency shell, and collect the output of "systemctl status
initrd-parse-etc.service" and "journalctl -b 0".
(You can still do that in the VM, right?)

[LLVMdev] register scavenger
...solved by
the use of register scavenger and I'm also providing an override of the
virtual method saveScavengerRegister. In Mips16, I have an extra mips 32
register (not usually very useful since it can only be used
in a move instruction) I can use instead of having to go to the stack
for an emergency slot.

Lustre Debug level

Lustre manual 1.6 v18 says that that in production lustre debug level
should be set to fairly low. Manual also says that I can verify that
level by running following commands:
# sysctl portals.debug
This gives ne following error
error: ''portals.debug'' is an unknown key
cat /proc/sys/lnet/debug
gives output:

[LLVMdev] register scavenger
I'm confused as to the logic used in the register scavenger when it
cannot find a free register.
I would think that it would want to free up the emergency spill slot
immediately after it's use, because otherwise there is a chance of
needing to use the emergency slot again and not be able to.
Instead it tries to restore it only right before register it is freeing up.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding this code.
