postscript cuts off left margin
...ith bounding box as it is already set at
llx = 0.
I have looked through the help for postscript output in R, but I don't
see anything which allows me to set the margins. The page size (6x6) is
chosen because it yields a figure which has nice proportions for my paper.
Any help appreciated.

Help Memdisk + Pxelinux hangs
Hello,
I am a *nix newbie
I am trying to boot a DOS boot disk using PXE (to Ghost on windows
images).
We have an existing PXE server which successfully serves out PXElinux and
Fedora builds based on that but my floppy disk image with memdisk isn't
working
I have tried a few different floppy images which people have posted as
ones that work for them but I doubt the disk is the problem

effect function (effects package)
...a percentage) should be exp(beta*epsilon), where beta is the appropriate coefficient from the model, but that's not what I'm getting using the effect() output.
Sorry for the lack of example-it would require toy data etc. and seems unnecessary since my question is more conceptual.
Thanks,
Eileen

Join table not being populated
Hello,
I have the usual Categories and Products table scenario, mediated by a
Categories_Products join table. When I create a new Product and into a
given Category, I notice that my join table is not being populated.
Shouldn''t the join Categories_Products table be populated?
Thanks,
gk

Windows 2000
Just curious, has anyone gotten Samba to work with Windows 2000? I've
mucked with it a bit. But can't seem to make it go. I haven't tried
applying the NT 4.0 Registry patches yet I will probably take a look at
them and see if I can get them working with Win2000.
Thanks!

simultaneous confidence intervals for glm quasipoisson
...calculating confidence intervals for regression coefficients in quasipoisson models calculated using glm? The intervals need to be simultaneous across several alternative models.
I know this is both a statistics and an R question, but I'm guessing some of you know about these things.

Building on Solaris 8 - RAND_add (etc) errors
...configure: failed program was:
#line 4397 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"
The solution to this problem that I found is to build
OpenSSL with 32 bit support only (i.e, do ./config -
do NOT do ./Configure solaris64-sparcv9-cc), then
configure OpenSSH.
I hope this helps!

complex subscript/superscript on axis labels
Hi All,
I am having trouble getting a complex subscript to work. I'm sure it's
possible. Here is what I have:
ylab=expression(paste("log ",L[peak]," [erg ",s^{-1},"]")),
I would like to have the subscript read "peak, gamma" where the gamma
would be the greek symbol. I do want the comma to show as well.
Thanks,
EM

package 'np' and point estimation with multiple predictors
(disclaimer: I'm in physics, not stats... )
I have a multivariate problem.
One variable, call it R1, and 3 "predictor" variables, P1, P2, P3.
My goal is to take a load of training data (I know R1,P1,P2,P3 for about
700 total points), and then predict R1 for a new set of data for which I
have all the predictors. Simple, no?
I understand how to calculate bandwidths, and I have a
