Browsing problems in IP masqueraded subnet
Hi everyone!
I have a subnet in a dormitory using IP masquerading, and it is
working fine. My only problem is that I can't browse the outer network
in a Microsoft machine inside. Here is the physical topology:

ATA recommendation??
Hello,
I want to ask that if thee are some ATA decives that i can use to connect
mutliple analog phone lines to my VOIP system..
I mean for example an ATA device with 24 ports with 24 independent SIP
accounts.
For example for some dormitories in my area, i want to put an ATA device
and move existing lines to VOIP accounts.
Only problem is, if i dont give seperate SIP accounts for all ports, i can
not control who is calling where... And the billing system will also be a
problem in that case.
Tnx...

ipp2p patch for kernel 2.6.17.4
Hello!
Our dormitory has a linux router w/ two DSL links to the Internet; we used
ipp2p (http://ipp2p.org/) for filtering peer to peer traffic (as we can
not tell whether the content transferred using such p2p tools has been
obtained legally or not, so we block that traffic).
Up to yesterday we were using kernel 2.6.10.11, which worked perfectly
with ipp2p. Now we updated to kernel 2.6.17.4, and

Performance of Route Hat
...ave to.
What happened yesterday? My largest customer switched from multiplexed DSL-Lines
(copper) to optics, and I did some quick measurements on the performance of
Route Hat. Admitedly, they are not very thorough, but I can do that as well when
I have more time.
Site specs:
- LAN consisting of 5 dormitories totalling ~1400 computers (max measured
concurrent users ~750, at the time the measurements were done there were
slightly over 500 concurrent users)
- 6 subnets
- 16MBit internet (16 up, 16 down)
Router HW specs:
- Athlon XP, 2GHz
- 512MB RAM
- 40GB HDD (only ~100MB used, mostly for logs)
- 2* 3Co...

Hi list...
I work for a school in the netherlands with a 2mbit Internet uplink and
about 3800 eager student who want to play games on the Internet using
one of our 800 workstations.
Problem was that those game playing students are concentrated in 2 of
our 6 physical locations... and they consumed the bandwidth which the
other location would like to use for educational purposes.

Intelligent P2P detection
Probably, I''m not the first one who needs solve problem with p2p.
Because, large part of my traffic is eaten by p2p software like KazAA,
e-mule, Direct Connect etc, I''m looking for the way of detection of such
traffic and marking it. However simple way with for instance 1214 port
for KazAA doesn''t work because this software uses floating port
technology. This traffic can
