Indices and totals
Hi all!
I've read http://reactor-core.org/ogg-tagging.html and
http://www.vorbis.com/ot/20030303.html#id2726753 about the goals and
non-goals of vorbis comments, but I'm still unsure:
1) Is it by purpose to forget about CDA's index feature because it's so
rarely used or did nobody here ever thought about it?
-> Add an INDEXNUMER field?
2) If "Vorbis comments are the

Clean install of RedHat 7.3, including samba - unable to connect to port 139
I did a clean install of Redhat 7.3 on a system. The install
included samba, samba-client, samba-common. I moved the saved
versions of smb.conf, smbusers and swbpasswd to /etc/samba. Then I
started up smb by issuing "/etc/init.d/smb start" I have set smb to
start upon reboot of the system. I have rebooted the system
several times. smbd and nmbd start up, but clients cannot

Re: tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD - fixed
Thank you. Thank you, Michael.
I saved smb.con, smbpasswd, and smbusers.
I stopped smb.
I deleted the three samba packages from the system.
I re-installed the three samba packages (2nd cd of the set)
I moved my configuration files back in /etc/samba
I started smb and everything works.

Giving full administrator privileges through sudo on production systems
Hello,
Consider two following cases:
1. On production systems on television stations, a sysadmin give teens
(remaja group, age 13 and older) full administrator privileges by adding
this line to sudoers:
%remaja ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
Rationale: Almost all programs on the system can only be run by teens as
root.
2. On production systems on tobacco factories, a sysadmin also give

PRI messages while running
I have an Asterisk system running on T1 PRI trunks using a TE405P. It

Every so often I get a raft of messages like this:

problem giving setting user permissions on specific folder
Sometimes I have had problems with member servers. With the windows
client, I set permissions on the file. But when I open the permissions
windows, the permissions have not been retained. I use Samba 3.x
machines as "classic" domain controllers- I suspect you are using an
Win 200x AD domain controller.
On the linux machine, what happens if you type "wbinfo -u"

New user's naive question
I have installed Mandrake 8.1 and chose ext3 for my main partitions (other
than root). However, stupidly, I cannot now remember whether I specified
ext3 for some other partitions that I haven't yet mounted (these are
essentially just spare capacity, though they may have some files on them if
they weren't formatted).
Is there a simple way of telling whether I should mount these as

Window computers. You can log into it, but you cannot see it from

color-coding of biplot points for varimax rotated factors (from PCA)
I'm using R for PCA and? factor analysis. I want to create biplots of
varimax rotated factors that color-code points by their
classification. My research is on streams that are urban and rural.
So, I want to color code them by this classification. If you just do a
biplot from prcomp or princomp, you cannot add this color. So, I have
used some code developed by a graduate student in our

Well, you can forget it. If everybody pulled that kind of subversive stunt,
the economy would collapse overnight. The government would have to
intervene: it would form a cabinet-level Department of Holiday Gift-Giving,
which would spend billions and billions of tax dollars to buy Barbie dolls
and electronic games, which it would drop on the populace from Air Force
jets, killing and maiming thousands. So, for the good of the nation, you
should go along with the Holiday Program. This means you should get a large
sum of money and go to a mall.
