If a member server, do you have winbind running? Is "INTERN" the domain name or the local machine name? When setting the permissions in windows, do you see the user as INTERN\user or UNIX\user? Are the permissions sticking in windows?

[Samba] problem giving setting user permissions on specific folder
Sometimes I have had problems with member servers. With the windows client, I set permissions on the file. But when I open the permissions windows, the permissions have not been retained. I use Samba 3.x machines as "classic" domain controllers- I suspect you are using an Win 200x AD domain controller. On the linux machine, what happens if you type "wbinfo -u" or "wbinfo -g" ? Yes actually the AD is a windows server 2003. The folder and files retain the permissions without any problem. The user i am adding belongs to the group owning that folder i checked that, and the group has read write permissions. The user i am having problem with belongs to the "dom?nen-benutzer" group. "dom?nen-benutzer" is the group owning all the folders in my samba server thanks Alberto - On 28.01.2015 19:39, Rowland Penny wrote:> On 28/01/15 17:07, Alberto Valdes Gonzalez wrote: >> Hello: >> >> I have this user who should have read write permissions in the folders >> >> \\server/folder1/folder2 >> >> \\server/folder4 >> >> Using windows I set the permission for this user but it does not >> work.
