HTML-documentaion on NT
Once you hae in stalled Guido's NT port of R it is nice and easy to install the add-on packages too. However, it would be nice to have links to the documentation of the functions in all the packages from the "All Installed Functions" html-page, and not have to go through each of the packages. Is there a utility somewhere to do this? Bendix \\\|///

Any help will be welcome! :-) Thanks anyway.

centosplus and contrib rpms
hi, it'd be useul if the centosplus and contrib directory can contain a small readme file or some kind of documentaion about the rpm inside. currently there is not any kind of such docs (ok johnny send a description about the kernel rpms, but if someone missed that email). eg the postfix rpm has the same description and changelog inside the rpm as the original ones. if someone just look into

RadRails Broke with 1.8.4 / 1.1
I''ve been using the radrails eclipse plugin with ruby 1.0 & Rails 1.8.2 up until this morning... I just installed Ruby 1.8.4 (one-click installer rc1) and Rails 1.1. Now the rails eclipse plugin does not seem to be aware of how to run ruby and has lost the ability to start the webrick server. I''m sure it''s a simple configuration issue but the radrails

ASCII character set and hyphen
Hi all! To add to my previous posting I want to give some more deatils give a more precise I want to print a hyphen to a pdf() or postscript() device. As the documentaion of postscript says ASCII Character 45("-") is mapped to a minus sign (ASCII Character 95) by default. The advice given is to use "\173" for a hyphen. But, the following code produces a curly brace instead

User home dirs
Hello all, I have a couple of questions about using the user home directories. Is it nesscary to keep the smbpasswd file in sync with the passwd file. When user level securitiy is turned on. From what I have been able to figure out is that these files do not automagically sync up and that the only real way to keep them in sync is to do it manually, unforutaly from what I have been able to

beginner's questions about lme, fixed and random effects
I'm trying to understand better the differences between fixed and random effects by running very simple examples in the nlme package. My first attempt was to try doing a t-test in lme. This is very similar to the Rail example that comes with nlme, but it has two groups instead of five. So I try a1 <- 1:10 a2 <- 7:16 t.test(a2,a1) getting t(18)=4.43, p=.0003224. Then I try to do it

SOLVED- Re: help installing R on Linux Mint 21.2
Luben, We all have different types of learning and how we approach this, let alone how we decompose things. With that, sorry you found this frustrating. Many of us put volunteer time into this trying to make things 'possible' and preferably 'easy' but we don't always get there. That said, I have shown multiple times over the last few years that the simple _one statement

Encoding Options
I have read FLAC's "--help", the man-page, and the HTML documentaion, but there are a few things that I don't understand. 1. I'll start with the thing I'm most confused about. The --best option is synonymous with -l 12 -b 4608 -m -e -r 6. Why is that? Is not -l 32 better that l- 12? And you can have -r 0,8 without using --lax, and -r 0,16 with --lax. 2. The --lax option

VDO killed my server
Folks I was impressed with the description of VDO (Virtual Device Optimizer?) in the RedHat documentaion, so much that I tried to use it. The tutorials led me to a few commands. I built a VDO device on top of two USB disks which I made into a Logical Volume, and I was ready to go. In my test case, I had a file set of about 600 GB. There was 5 TB of space between the two disk LVMs. So, I

Puppet Forge question

I''ve got the http_proxy environment variable set properly, but when I try to use puppet module install <foo> it doesn''t seem to honor it and can''t connect. I used wget to download it, but even when I use modulepath it still tries to connect to the forge and

ternary contour plot
Colin, If your propose is to create a ternary plot with points and vectors, I think easier do this with graphics based plots instead of trellis based plots. Although, with little work you can do with trellis too. I gave you a reproducible code to put an arrow in a ternary plot. I use the function locator() to extract coordinates. The code is the following
